@TSmitty3000 @CoverCrimson Yeah, five forced missed tackles on only 19 carries is 👌 small sample size, but impressive nonetheless.
English

@ClintRLamb @CoverCrimson AK Dear didn't have many carries but made folks miss
English

Forced miss tackle rate in 2025…
Jam Miller: 16.9%
Daniel Hill: 18.7%
Kevin Riley: 13.6%
AK Dear: 26.3%
Hollywood Smothers: 30.6%
Raleek Brown: 29.7%
Explosiveness + ability to create are two areas I think Alabama wanted to get better in at RB this offseason. Either EJ Crowell needs to provide those elements, or the in-house returning options need to improve.
English

@ClintRLamb @BobBQue88 I agree with that but it’s better playing those guys before you get into the beef of the schedule, would hate to play uga, Texas A&M early vs playing miss state and Kentucky
English

@keepsit1000 @BobBQue88 @ UK, SC and @ MSST won’t be easy games. Alabama will likely be multi-score favorites (rightfully so) over all of them, but they’ll need to be careful.
English

@BobBQue88 @ClintRLamb Good thing we don’t play asuper talented team until week 6
English

@Codyy_WC I’ve leaned Keelon Russell. Austin Mack is more than talented enough to win the job though. Think it’ll go deep into fall camp, if not even into the ECU game.
English

@BobBQue88 @CoverCrimson Thanks for your support, Bob! Always appreciate you being there 🙏
English

@ClintRLamb @CoverCrimson I can't always make them live, but I always catch up later! Thanks for all the analysis Clint! I really hope AK and EJ are the sparks we need to get the running game going assuming line play is improved 🙏

All of Delgatty’s snaps and starts came at an FCS program. Almost half of Jayvin’s starts came at Akron — and right now, he’s not even close to a sure thing to start anyways. Rogers could be WR3, but could either be WR4 or 5 too.
Did a nice job bringing in *some* experience to compete, but I don’t know what else to tell you. This is a very inexperienced bunch right now. Experience will be improved over time. We’ll have to see what growing pains they go through in the meantime.
English

@ClintRLamb @bama3131 The roster isn’t that inexperienced like you guys keep saying lol and uga went 11-1 with nothing but freshman lmao I don’t get were you’re coming from Clint
English

@SuaKCravens Alabama has a QB going into Year 4 in college and he’s only 19 😂
English

Between 2009-17, Alabama signed 6 top-5 running backs. All but one were either a Day 1 or 2 NFL draft pick. That’s a 9-year period btw.
Trent Richardson (1)
TJ Yeldon (2)
Derrick Henry (2)
Bo Scarbrough (7)
Damien Harris (3)
Najee Harris (1)
Since 2018 (9 years), Alabama has brought in 8 more.
Trey Sanders (transferred)
Cam Wheaton (transferred)
Jam Miller (projected Day 3 pick)
Justice Haynes (transferred)
Richard Young (transferred)
Kevin Riley
AK Dear
EJ Crowell
Alabama must get back to hitting on these top backs. Don’t know where Haynes will end up in the 2027 draft, but safe to say most of the others fell short of expectations — for one reason or another. And even if Haynes ends up being that guy, he didn’t do it at Alabama.
Think Crowell and either Dear or Riley will be the ones to right the ship. Big year to get things back on track.

Clint if Steve can figure it out… it is going to be scary
Clint Lamb@ClintRLamb
Steve Mboumoua is built like a truck. Isaia Faga looks lean (in a good way). Can see Faga being a matchup nightmare in 1v1 situations.
English

Which fans aren’t OK with a committee approach? It’ll almost certainly include at least two, maybe three options. Even if Crowell is that guy, would still be surprised if they committed to just one player. Can certainly see it being condensed to primarily two if he’s ready for a massive workload though.
English

@richfromatl @Andy_RTR91 This doesn’t make sense, Rich. The post is about top-10 HS RBs coming out, so anyone who wasn’t a top-10 RB isn’t included. It’s not splitting hairs or a mistake… it’s the entire point of the list.
English

@ClintRLamb @Andy_RTR91 With the exception of DHenry, Josh has had the best NFL career of all the Alabama backs in the Saban era. He can catch & pass Shaun Alexander as the #2 RB from Bama all time. Leaving him off your list is a mistake even if you want to split hairs with recruiting rankings.🤷
Johns Creek, GA 🇺🇸 English

@richfromatl @Andy_RTR91 3-star recruit (or low 4-star, depending) out of HS.
English

@qb_country I’d say this is a pretty solid theory. RB coach from 2007-17. Think his last RB (or one of them) at Clemson was CJ Spiller. Pretty sure he was a top-10 RB coming out of HS too.
English

@ClintRLamb Excellent post buddy. Highly informational and illuminating. BTW, honestly my first thought … Burton Burns was a heck of an evaluator at the position. That’s Theory #1 for me.
English

@Platomasochist @BlkSuper_Hero You’ve got some guys in there who have helped like Josh Jacobs and, as you mentioned, Jahmyr Gibbs. Alabama has a strong claim to RBU.
English

@ClintRLamb @BlkSuper_Hero Now that I see this list, our claims of RBU have been greatly exaggerated, at least in terms of NFL. Brutal.
Thank God for Henry.
We gotta get back to our college level RBU status tho. We did have college monsters at that position.
