also, the way the mod renders is also quite inefficient, even then. Nvidium is leagues ahead (and notably, basically everything it does could be done in Metal!)

this is a very cool idea it is also horribly flawed 1: 1.16.5 is five years old now. It is a *very different game* internally from 1.21.11 (basically unrecognizable). 2: the performance increase is almost entirely due to the code skipping bad driver paths.
