@JohnSexton8676 @moultano Its not that simple, in Europe for example you do a 6 year medical degree instead of the US 4 year undergrad + 4 year med school.
Law school is the same, Europe varies but often 5-8 years and in UK you do extra school anyways to litigate (barrister).
English

@moultano @ConnorColson In most countries you can do law and medicine straight out of high school.
English

I don't get why law and medicine don't both start your real training in undergrad. Seems like a huge waste of life to make you get a bachelor's first.

3. And I don't think that "not amenable to reform" is true. Take my own profession -- law. In most places in the United States, you need to attend law school for three years and then pass a bar examination to practice law.

@LRNROSE @Dictionarycom @LRNROSE can apparently define every word they know on command. Are you hiring?
English

not being shady but how did you gain the vocabulary if you cant define it?

The weird thing about reading so much as a child and gaining a huge vocabulary from that is I can't define a lot of the words I use, I just know that they would fit correctly in a specific sentence. Does anyone else experience that?

@BigMeanInternet Sadly they are getting pumped out on kindle for people to purchase accidentally.

@bubbleboi That doesn't seem to be supported by the evidence.... Top attorneys are often the best paid, but paying a lot DOES NOT guarantee a great attorney.
Big Law firms only win 7% more than small ones in aggregate, and often lose to specialist boutiques. newswire.com/news/are-big-l…
