This summer I counted about 70 tents close to the bike path in Lincoln Park many of which still exist. I called the police, and CPD said the Chicago Park District told them not to remove people living in the tents, even though it’s against the law to camp overnight in Lincoln Park. Absolutely insane bureaucracy 🤯🤯🤯 . Know any good lawyers?

I live in one of the nicest areas of Chicago. I just had to abort a mid day walk on the lakefront because I felt unsafe after 3 encounters in 10 minutes. I should be able to walk alone mid day on the lakefront.

"Wrong place, wrong time" as one Chicago, state-run media outlet, indistinguishable from all of the others, described Sheridan Gorman's murder is a real tell. A college kid hanging out with her friends on the beach to see the northern lights is being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Being in America illegally with the intent to prey on others, even after having been previously arrested, is not. It's just like commuting to and from work on the El is being in the wrong place at the wrong time. But being on the same train with the intent to light someone on fire after having been arrested 70+ times is not. It's just like being a Chicago firefighter who shows up to fight a blaze is being in the wrong place at the wrong time. But being a meth head on felony pretrial release who started the fire is not. Maybe the Chicago press corps has a point: the people who play by the rules in Chicago--getting their education, doing their job or trying to protect others--are in fact in the wrong place at any time.

Does anyone else with ADHD get hit with too much inspiration at once? like suddenly you have 10 different things you want to start. and the moment you realize you can't do all of them rn. the motivation just disappears.

Kentucky reportedly paid Jayden Quaintance $2 million this season to transfer from Arizona State. He scored 20 points all season. That’s $100,000 per point. Good work if you can get it… #MarchMadness

Sheridan Gorman's family also released a lengthy statement today after reports emerged, quoting others who said Gorman may have been in the wrong place at the wrong time, "What happened to Sheridan cannot be reduced to the idea of someone being in the wrong place at the wrong time. This is not an abstraction. This is the loss of a daughter. The loss of a sister. The loss of a future filled with milestones that will now never come. Our family is forever changed."

New photos of slain @LoyolaChicago student Sheridan Gorman shared by her family with @FoxNews The @chicagotribune says a police report indicates witnesses saw a man dressed in all black, with a black mask pull out a gun, aim and fire at Gorman as she was running away. Terrifying and senseless. My thoughts are with her family.

Dear Mother — The air here is thick with anticipation, a nervous energy that hums through the camp. We've been marching for days, we are close. Though I try to keep spirits up, the thoughts of March loom. These are the moments we live for… we must take the opportunity. — KB

In an interview in 1974, Richard Wurmbrand, a Romanian pastor once imprisoned for 14 years, shared an important insight on the reason he experienced such intense persecution under Communist leaders: Pat Robertson: "That was your only crime, that you said, I want to bring men to eternal life, tell them they have an immortal soul, tell them about Jesus?" Wurmbrand: "Well, I would not say that this is the only thing. So much they would have allowed. Nothing would have happened to St. John the Baptist if he would have said only, 'Repent. The Kingdom of Heaven is near,' but when he said, 'You, Herod, are bad,' then he was beheaded. Jesus could have delivered hundreds of sermons on the mount and parables. Nothing would have happened to Him, but when He said, 'Woe unto you, hypocrite Pharisees,' then He was lost. And in preaching the Gospel, you have to do two things: to proclaim the Kingdom, but also to denounce sin. And we did this side, and the greatest sin committed in humanity today is Communism, not only that it has killed 60 million people in Red China and 30 million in Russia, but it poisons youth and children with atheism. It uses brainwashing. It puts Christians in psychiatric exams, not only in prisons where simply they break their will and their mind, and they try to subvert the whole world with Communism. So I preached both sides of the Gospel. I denounced the sin, and at the same time, I extended to them the invitation to come to the Kingdom."

Yes, it's true. Rinri Therapeutics (University of Sheffield spinout) got UK MHRA approval in July 2025 for the first human trial of Rincell-1 stem cell therapy to regenerate damaged auditory nerves in sensorineural hearing loss. Animal studies showed restored hearing function. The trial is launching this year—early stage with big potential, but results will take time. Exciting science.

BREAKING🚨: Scientists Are Attempting the Impossible: Regrowing Hearing Nerves in Humans What if the silence you’ve lived with for years could suddenly vanish? What if lost sounds — your loved one’s voice, music, even laughter — could come back? Scientists at the University of Sheffield are daring to do the unthinkable. They’ve launched a groundbreaking trial using stem cell injections that might regrow the tiny nerves in your inner ear — the very ones that make hearing possible. It’s early. But in animals, similar treatments have already restored hearing. Now, for the first time in humans, science is stepping into a realm that was once pure science fiction. Could this be the moment when deafness becomes reversible? The world is holding its breath. Source: University of Sheffield, Open Access Government (2026)

#Illini Kylan Boswell: "I was extremely upset about Wisconsin. Whatever emotions I felt from that game, just basically tried to just carry it to today. He held Penn's TJ Power to six points: "He's a very, very good player without a doubt... Tonight that was just more unfortunate for him because I was extremely frustrated with the last situation. I was hyper-focused on the assignment I had today." (Video from WSPA/ABC 7)

Then I'm calling it. If 1.55 PPP for the entire game was the 3rd-best in Tournament history, 1.97 for one half is ABSOLUTELY the single best offensive half in the history of the NCAAT. 1.97 is basically this: the other team doesn't play defense & you get a free layup every trip.
Jared Berson@JaredBerson

Illinois scored 1.55 points per possession tonight in its win over Penn. Per barttorvik.com, that’s the 3rd-highest PPP in an NCAA Tournament game over the last 18 years and the highest since Villanova scored 1.57 PPP against Miami in the 2016 Sweet 16.

🚨COMPLETE REMISSIONS of Stage IV cancers using anti-parasitics are now being documented in the peer-reviewed literature. HUNDREDS of studies find ivermectin and fenbendazole exert over 12 distinct anti-cancer mechanisms across more than 12 cancer types.

Mel Gibson: "I have 3 friends. All 3 of them had stage 4 cancer…and all 3 of them…don't have cancer right now at all…" Joe Rogan: "What did they take…? Ivermectin and Fenbendazole…" Mel Gibson nods in agreement.

Jimmy Gracey He was last seen at the Shoko Beach Bar on surveillance cameras after 3 AM. According to Barcelona papers, they believe foul play based on this video. I know that 3 AM seems so late, but that is only 8 PM Alabama time. Further, Spanish culture is so different. Split shifts with 2 hour breaks mid-day, followed by late evening dinners. Shoko closes at 6 a.m. I fear for Jimmy Gracey. Was he lured and robbed or worse? Did he fight? He was 6'1". Who the heck had his cell phone and why would they keep it knowing it could be tracked? How long had Jimmy been without it? For all mama and papa bears, this is absolutely a nightmare. Please use your platforms to circulate his face and name. P.S. Please, never leave your wingman. It could cause them their life. #JimmyGracey #Barcelona

🚨🚨Statement from the president of the University of Alabama Chapter of Theta Chi, Jimmy Gracey's fraternity: "Jimmy is a beloved brother and a man of upstanding character. He serves as a mentor to younger classes in our chapter and guides our brothers on their journey with their Faith as our Chaplain. He also serves as one of our Philanthropy Chairmen and devotes his time to giving back to others. He’s the guy that goes out of his way to be there when someone needs it. "We’re working closely and appreciate the support from Senator Britts office, the State Department, the US Embassy here in Barcelona, the UA administration and student body, Theta Chi IHQ, local authorities, and everyone else involved. Thank you to everyone sharing the story and helping to raise awareness. We’re keeping our heads up and remaining hopeful that we find him safe." — Cavin McLay, via @AshleyMPapa
