@geisonmcd @kirchenthomas1 @SandyofCthulhu Well there's a reason you put the mask on yourself first, it's because that way you can assure that children will be taken care next. If however there was only a mask, I'd give mine to my kids without any hesitation.

It's in the kids' best interest that we have a healthy relationship with the spouse, but then again the kids are the priority. Would you harm your kids to prioritize your relationship? Besides if the reason you are cultivating the relationship is cause it's in their best interest, that means you are prioritizing them, in a weird way.

@DNaaask @kirchenthomas1 @SandyofCthulhu Kids have 2 parents, you only have one partner. It's in the kids' best interest that your primary focus is maintaining a healthy spousal relationship while you raise kids together.

@Wheelsno7 @kirchenthomas1 @SandyofCthulhu When I say kids should be prioritized I don't mean to do whatever they ask. I mean their health, education and general well-being will always come first no matter what. Not judging, but I'm astonished there are parents who don't think that.

@kirchenthomas1 @DNaaask @SandyofCthulhu Your spouse should come first day to day. Prioritize your spouse over kids in situations where the kids try and make you pick. But in an emergency? Very different.

@c_h_e_m @SandyofCthulhu I get the idea, kinda makes no sense to compare quantities of love. But I don't understand anyone putting the safety of their spouse before their kids, for example.

They will get out of the house, marry, have their family of their own, etc. While you will share your life with your spouse up till the end. It's a different kind of love. "More" is always difficult to quantify

@DNaaask @SandyofCthulhu Your spouse should always come first in life, before the kids and everyone else. You chose them, you made a vow to them, you are indebted to them, and they were your spouse before they were your child's parent. 'Love more' is a clumsy phrase, but spouses are first priority.
