@CSGOhistories Can someone educate me on why the fuck do weapon skins have an actual price? I don’t have a clue of what makes it more valuable than a literal house, like even a house has more function than a weapon skin that 99% of the time nobody will give a shit except for those holding them

Unpopular opinion: AI basically became useful for enterprise use early this year with agentic AI acceleration. Everything before was basically consumer and hobbyist. 2026 is year 0 for AI enterprise use. So why would anyone have expected measurable productivity increase already.

@Pehdrew_ @buccocapital the training process creates Models out of Data. quite a transformative process, to which each datum is neither critical nor rivalrous. On the other end you get a machine you can talk to Meanwhile stealing training secrets to make more models isn’t transformative at all

IMHO you lose the right to complain about your IP being stolen/distilled if your IP is built on the stolen collective IP of humanity.

@hankgreen The middle ground is usually someone tries to get paid, then people see the need for a free version and if it gets traction enough, someone can't compete by doing a paid version.

As a complete outsider, the software world appears to be a mix of “this is so cool and valuable, we should make sure it’s 100% free for everyone” and “we have found a business that has potentially infinite margin and we should make sure we get as close ♾️ as possible.” These things just appear to live side by side with complete opposite ideological perspectives and there seems to be effectively zero people taking up any kind of middle ground. I know I’m a dumbass, but it does seem a little weird!!

it’s crazy how much code people are writing with AI and how much it literally hasn’t changed anything in life at all for anyone. but it is a lot of code

@cptdankkk How did the first person discover that busting a toad pimple, drying the pjs, scraping it off and then smoking it got you high?

Mike Tyson says he quit cocaine and alcohol for 5 years after smoking toad venom “I had the experience of smoking some of the toad venom that comes from the toad. You bust its little pimple and the puss comes out. We put it on a window or a mirror, it hardens up, we make fine ash out of it, like sawdust or whatever, and we smoke it” “Then we smoke it, and once you smoke it, let the smoke out. You hold it for as long as possible. You let it out, and then you go to another dimension. Then you realize all you did in life, you didn't do shit. This is the closest I ever been to God” “Oh shit, it'll blow your motherfucking mind. It will blow your mind for you to know how powerful you are. I did it around 60 times. It's always a different experience. It blows your mind what you saw” “I saw the ancient shit, like the Aztec, shit from Africa. I saw my ancestors during prehistoric times. It's really creepy. And then next thing you know, you wake up and you're crying or something” “If I ever saw somebody take it before I did, I would never take it. I was high. I was on cocaine. I was on cocaine when I took it. I was doing crazy shit. I took that, I ain't get high for five years. Didn't touch liquor or cocaine in five years. I was 100 pounds overweight. I got in shape to fight. That's what that did to me”

@thsottiaux Rename it to codex, when you open it shows you only the code projects and a green dot indicating it's connected to the remote machine. Don't call it "remote" though. If it's not connected it queues the prompts for when it is.

I'm still astonished that 12 months ago most engineers wrote code by hand, and now most code is AI-generated. Makes you wonder what's normal today that's gone by next year.

@tendollardanny You joke, but people are constantly confused about the turn the other cheek message and the fight evil message. They seem conflicting to me. Should I not put to death a repeat offender who has killed 5 people?
