People laughed at me when I said I will quit my job, train in permanent makeup and open my own salon. I did just that, took a loan, trained, risked it, went from £18k annual salary to raking in over £100k annual profit being a business owner. People laughed at me when I said I’ll be purchasing cars at auction, getting them fixed and selling for profit. I knew nothing about cars and the auctions were dominated by men. I did just that and in the end I was buying multiple cars every auction and making over £10k profit monthly. People laughed at me when I said I want to invest in stocks and crypto during covid, they thought I was mad and that I would lose everything. I did just that and turned £40k into over £2M. I went from an immigrant that started by waiting tables on minimum wage, working 3 jobs simultaneously to buying my own house outright. The moral of the story is, don’t listen to the naysayers. Listen to your gut feeling and don’t be afraid to fail. Be persistent and remember if you don’t risk anything, you risk everything.

@HukAleksandra Recently I’ve seen all these notices trying to prevent fraud at places where you can get money or equivalents. They ask if you know the person and similar questions. I wonder if the cashier was just following a script they’ve been instructed to ask, probably to cover their butts

I rang my bank & preordered £25,000 cash for the following day with a time slot Went to the bank and said to the cashier I’m here to collect my money The cashier says: that’s a lot of money what do you need it for? I said it’s all relative and that I’m purchasing a car He proceeds to repeatedly ask: what kind of car? Did anybody make you withdraw this money? Have you seen the car? Why in cash? Have you seen the advert? Afterwards he knocked on his manager’s window and said he is not comfortable giving me the money, he’d rather someone sat down with me. So he asked me to take a seat and wait I sat there and nobody approached me for a while Eventually I went back to the desk and in the end the manager told him to hand over my money The whole ordeal took place in front of all the other customers (who were in disbelief) and took over an hour until they eventually handed over MY money which I PREORDERED They make you feel criminal for withdrawing your own money BANKS SUCK

@micahcjames The right guy will come into your life when the time’s right. I wish I would have waited instead of marrying the first guy I thought was great when I was 18 and knew nothing about life! 1 divorce and 10 years of single motherhood later, I’m now happily remarried to the right one

I turned 25 today. It was my “plan” to be married by 22 and have my first child by 25, but here I am—single for over 8 years. I have always prayed to the Lord about becoming a wife and I’ve been praying for my future husband since I was a child. So I’ve wondered: Have I missed something? Has God forgotten me? Absolutely not. I prayed a very specific prayer related to becoming a wife around 18 and God has remained faithful in answering it; I credit Him for protecting me from situations that I have no idea I could’ve been apart of had I not prayed that specific prayer. I’ve spent my singleness living my life to the fullest—at least I’ve tried to; I don’t think that I’m doing a horrible job of it. When I was 20, I became a doula. When I was 21, I started my first business. When I was 22, I moved to Spain for 6 months and did a little bit of travel around Europe. I don’t think that I’ve missed something—I think that God is sovereign and has continually protected me in several aspects. He is faithful: that’s who He is. I think that as Christians, especially Christian singles, we can start freaking out about who we’re going to marry and when, because it’s something that, frankly, we think about all the time. Trust me, I know. It’s especially hard when your friends are getting married and having babies. I attended a lot of weddings last year. Throughout my early and mid 20s, I’ve learned that I’d rather have God’s protection than my perception of what is best for me. He knows what’s best for me, and it’s greater than my wildest dreams. We have to learn to trust the season that we’re in, but also, we have to learn to be responsible on our own part so that we’re able to steward the gifts that we’ve been praying for. I never imagined that I’d be single for 8 going on 9 years when I was in high school, but I’m grateful, because God’s hand is all over my life. If you’re single and having a hard time dealing with it and dating seems impossible, know that you’re not alone, and that if you’re obedient to God, if you’re are staying involved in community and if you are waking with Jesus every day, you’re doing the right thing. Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. Isaiah 49:15

You're LEGALLY entitled to compensation for flights canceled or delayed — Here's what you do: Many flights are canceled or delayed, but you are legally entitled to: • Refunds • Alternate transportation • Compensation for additional expenses • Reimbursement for flight-related expenses In the U.S., the Department of Transportation (DOT) requires airlines to compensate passengers for certain delays and cancellations. The DOT's rules do not specify an amount, but they require airlines to provide meals, accommodations, and transportation to and from the airport. Under European Union (EU) regulations, if your flight is canceled or significantly delayed, you may be entitled to compensation from the airline if the delay or cancellation was within the airline's control. Use this script to complain via email, chat, text or phone: "Hi, my name is [Your Name] and I'm reaching out to request compensation for my flight from [Origin] to [Destination] on [Date] which was [delayed/canceled]. I understand that flights can sometimes be delayed or canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, but I believe I am entitled to compensation for the inconvenience caused by this [delay/cancellation]. I have attached copies of my ticket and any relevant receipts or documentation, including expenses for meals, accommodations, and transportation, which were incurred as a result of the [delay/cancellation]. I would appreciate it if you could please review my case and provide me with a response as soon as possible. Thank you for your attention to this matter." The first thing you should do is contact the airline to determine your options. • If your flight has been canceled, many airlines offer to either reschedule your flight for a later date or provide a full refund for the ticket. • If your flight has been delayed, many airlines offer compensation or assistance, such as meals or hotel accommodations, depending on the length of the delay and the circumstances. If you experienced a significant delay or other inconvenience, you may be able to receive additional compensation to cover any additional expenses you incurred as a result. If you are unable to find a satisfactory resolution, you can file a complaint with the Department of Transportation.
