@TM9380 Pretty much 🤣 It's not as extensive (nor hoarding) as Darren's collection, but I keep my sauropod-only collection together in one place that I call the shrine-opod 🤣

Came home to my Rebor Diplodocus waiting for me! This thing is stupidly long, lol. Most of my 1:35 dinosaurs are on my desk at work but it does a good job capturing just how horizontally gifted these animas were, haha

@DoubleBeam It is and the price is good. I just liked the colors/patterns and larger size on this one a little more

@DoubleBeam I was wanting a reasonably priced but large 1:35 sauropod to go with my Camarasaurus. This seemed perfect! Plus the Carnegie connection. Now I just need an Apatosaurus…

Although antipredator defense is considered a less likely (but not mutually exclusive) function for the keratinous spurs of Nemegt sauropod front feet, I would note that these sauropods were ENORMOUS animals (cont.)

@DoubleBeam All of these coelurosaur clades should be well distributed by the Late Jurassic. Tyrannosauroids and paravians are already in North America and Asia so it stands to reason the whole diversity was present, but missing. And YPM 1997 was collected in the 1870s...

IMO, one of the really cool things about the new Alnashetri paper is that it (potentially) further pushes back lineages, AND it emphasizes that formations - particularly the Morrison - likely harbored a bonanza of diverse small-bodied dino clades. 🧵

@TomHoltzPaleo Further proof you were already spreading the good word way back! 🤣

@DoubleBeam Especially as Yinlong is OLDER than the Morrison! Someday I need to actually get back to this study (presented at SVP 2012):

AND *if* Drinker is really a pachycephalosaur, and Yinlong was bouncing around in coeval China, why not a little Morrison ceratopsian?

Since troodontids were around, phylogenetically maybe dromaeosaurids too. And with Paraves, how farfetched is it to think oviraptorosaur were around? (yes, IYKYK) And *IF* an alvarezsauroid + definitive Paraves, then a Morrison therizinosaur isn't impossible.

And given all of @TheCassowaryKid's great papers on the visual display role of casques in cassowaries already, this at least teases the possibility (to me) that our 2021 paper might have been on to something....
