THE IJO ORIGINS OF NDOKI. A🧵 Walk with me👇🏿 Owing to civil war in ancient Benin, groups of IJO people migrated from Benin through the central Delta in an easterly direction Along the way, they founded several communities that were clearly IJO & also served IJO deities 1/17

I’m the last person you’ll see claiming someone is Igbo cos they speak Igbo language. I judge ethnicity via anthropological evidence, not political. The reason you’ll never see me claiming Opobo & Bonny is Igbo is cos they bear Ijaw names, & practice Ijaw culture.

@SheldonCooperNG Oral history is fundamental. But oral history itself, is not the be all end all Nri falling from the sky is mythology, not oral history The point is, the oral history of the people now called Anioma being of mixed ancestry (Benin, Igala, Igbo) long predates the war

@FeppleWinks No oral history is not fundamental. That is not an academic perspective of history. If we go by oral history then Nri fell from the sky or Sango spat fire. Oral history has myths. Scientific history processes to determine probable fact from fiction! Oral history can be embelished

Imagine standing in front of him to say a snake swallowed 1.2billion naira in your office. "You mean you saw a snake swallow 1.2 billion naira"?. This is not acceptable. "1.2billion naira can do a lot in Primary Health Care sector". Go and bring the money from the snake". 🤣🤣

Uche, I have respect for you but saying things like this makes you look a bit stupid. The other one is @jeriqthehussla Mine is @Jeriq_ different handle, different bio, different avatar, different follower count, different everything. That’s not “impersonation,” that’s two grown adults with similar nicknames on the same app. You’re crying “brand damage” because I joined in 2020 with my own handle? Absolutely ridiculous. Bro, rest. Nobody is confusing the two accounts except you and your conspiracy group chat. And dragging Ndi Igbo into your personal meltdown is peak projection. You said you’re ignoring me because I’m “irrelevant”? Good, stay ignored, stay mad, look at my pinned tweet, I really don't give a fuck what anyone thinks.
Anambra 1st son@UchePOkoye

This is brand damage your impersonation has caused Jeriq. You claimed that you registered your name on twitter in 2020, but Jeriq has been on twitter since 2017. This is a classical example of how identity crisis and denialism is causing harm to Ndi Igbo. I am ignoring people like you because you are in minority and irrelevant in the scheme of things.

@jeriq_ @jeriqthehussla Then what bloggers are carrying says otherwise. The real artist Jeriq is who the bloggers are carrying. That’s why his trying to let you know that whatever you post with that name somehow affects the artist just like what Kaduna Nzeogwu did affected other Igbo people.

@SheldonCooperNG All history of a group begins with oral history Oral history is in fact fundamental The point is Anioma oral history have been consistent about their mixed Benin, Igala, Igbo ancestry And these oral history wasn't a post civil war revisionism as some people are wont to claim

@FeppleWinks Even Jacob Egharevba the Benin historian states that those who left Benin met Igbos (Ika) living in those communities and assimilated with them bringing their Benin culture. There is no historian that claims a foundational people influenced by Igbo culture!

Jeriq @jeriq_, can you show me where you have corrected Nigerians who claim the 1966 coup was Igbo and told them it was an Anioma coup? Because you double-dealing cow@rds will commit crimes and then hide your hands, allowing Ndi Igbo to take the fall. If you want us to stop calling you Igbo, then from today, whenever the 1966 coup is labeled an Igbo coup, I expect people like you to reject it and call it an Anioma coup. Double dealing bini fugitives and vagabonds the barrel of a gvn will remind you who are like it did during the asaba m@ss@cre
Jeriq@jeriq_

Igbos in the quote mocking us are funny lol. If a whole group of people have persistently rejected being called Igbo for decades, just let them be. This incessant dragging and shaming because Anioma/Ndokwa folks decline the Igbo label only worsens the relationship that already exists. From celebrities to scholars to everyday people, we've made their choice crystal clear: “We are Ukwuani/Anioma, not Igbo.” We must learn to respect our choice. Forcing it is like forcing an Indian to call himself Pakistani simply because they share some language family and cultural similarities. Language family ≠ ethnicity. Self-identification is what matters. We have chosen not to be igbos, respect our decision.

@frankcisco_69 @_iamLuggy @nzemmili But you never had any case na? Or has any Ijaw ever denied Bonny and Opobo ties with Ndoki? Or were the tears of the Igbos who were wailing about Ndoki reconnecting with Bonny a tacit admission of Ndoki's true Ijaw origins?

@bernard_nk51329 @Unabombaar Ifeajuna wrote a manuscript of the coup in which he confirmed he was the brains and leader of the coup He handed over that manuscript to Chinua Achebe This is Achebe narrating the affair Ifeajuna was the mastermind and leader of the coup

@Starqueensly @IzonDance_Music You have to be the dumbest of your band of landlocked retards Her account of "red" Ijaw people is from 1863. Clearly it is aboriginal to us Every Nigerian tribe is mostly dark. There is no Nigerian tribe that is mostly light skinned.

You’re the one incoherently yapping like a lvantic. If you’re documented to be consistently dark with no record of light-skin for two centuries: 1700s to 1900 where you were still noted to be “…mostly black…” with “some” exceptions, it means the complexion was not aboriginal to you like the Igbo especially when there’s no trace of it in the diaspora like the Igbo in the Caribbean where even light-skinned is translated as Igbo in their dictionary. Get l0st here sham..eless bich and go find your mate to drag phenotype with. The evidences are too staggering.

@frankcisco_69 @_iamLuggy @nzemmili No Ijaw has ever denied Ndoki ties to Bonny and Opobo Ndoki people reconnected with Bonny recently by visiting Bonny to renew kinship ties, and Ijaws celebrated it while Igbos were vituperating While were Ijaws celebrating and Igbos wailing? Your guess is as good as mine

@_iamLuggy @FeppleWinks @nzemmili It’s not revisionism just ignore IPOB claims and focus on the facts. Just as you have the right to claim Bonny/Opobo due to shared ancestral ties, an Ndoki person has that same right too. That’s why I said earlier.
