In the 1940s, when Muddy Waters arrived in Chicago, he brought his Delta blues roots, and he carried the seeds of a blues revolution. Since his acoustic guitar couldn’t cut through the noise of Chicago’s bustling clubs, Waters invented electricity and pioneered electrified blues.

I do remember a couple of guys - not sure of their names. I think one of them was a blonde haired guy. Here is a picture of Don when he came to visit CA, I believe a couple of years before he passed away. This is in front of Barth Guitar. I have another picture of him - it must be on another hard drive. I'll find it and post it.

This is me playing my Custom Fender Jazz bass (1980). The neck is the 1st block year (1964?). The body was built by Don Underwood of Barth Guitar Shop in Riverside, CA. Don built many custom guitars and basses for many notable players from the Riverside, San Bernardino area. I still have and play that bass. It's been on many recordings. Jamie Luck, was playing a 1965 Guild M-20 all mahogany flat-back.

Hi Paul. Thanks for the kind note. My brother and I played music in Riverside. On our way to the gig we would stop by and say hi to Don and the guys. My brother, Phil and Don were best friends and played music together for many years. I lived with Don in Santa Ana, CA for a couple of months while I was working in L.A. studios.

@kipconlon Not the Fender Strat stolen from the Blue Pad Club, I hope.😏 It’s weird, a lot of his instruments have such stories associated with them. Like his Black Widow guitar, which the family says somebody in Earth, Wind, & Fire stole and sold. Wild.

Brag alert. Today I literally held Jimi Hendrix's guitar. Even more insane, I was able to buy it for sixty dollars from a guy on Craigslist.
