TKO, as an entity, has a major task on its hands right now: it has to win the hardcore fans back. They may care about the casuals, the top line, the mainstream fans, celebrities, and influencers. They may not care about the hardcores now—but they will start to worry about them when the casuals become hardcores, which is what they want. The letters TKO are becoming somewhat stained in the eyes of wrestling, MMA, and boxing fans. We should never be talking about TKO as fans—that’s the parent company. They’re ruining the sanctity of what we love so much. The mat now has ads everywhere. The table has ads everywhere. The apron has ads everywhere. There are no more backstage vignettes, no more interviews, and entrances are being lost—it doesn’t feel the same anymore.

@arielhelwani Literally the first thing I said to my friends after it was over. WrestleMania just didn’t feel like WrestleMania. It hasnt felt special since it went two nights. It used ti be so exciting. SmackDown Friday. NXT and HOF on Saturday. Mania Sunday. TKO, they’re killing it.

I will be 100% honest: WrestleMania 42 felt soulless. The whole thing felt soulless. That’s the term I use for the Apex, and that’s the term I use when I see the AI stuff—but this was on a different level. That did not feel like WrestleMania. It felt stripped down. It didn’t feel big. I’m not against advertising, but there are ways to do it with grace and class. Literally everything was for sale. They have gone from nothing to completely overboard.
