There is a sickness upon the Reformed movement, a sickness of unloving hostility to those we disagree with, and we need something like an exorcism of it.

@ostrachan Indeed we don’t need to worry. Christ is the head of the church and as He proclaimed, upon the rock of Peter, he will build his church. Our Pope is the successor to Peter and it is remains Christ’s Church all these years. Not once has God ever abandoned it.

Breathe deep, Christian. You do not need to worry for a single second about the head of the church. You don't need to read up on media coverage of him. You don't need to fret about his liberalism, his stringency, his imbalance, his overly elitist credentials, his lack of credentials, his signaling in a troubling direction, his slipperiness on doctrine, his lack of transparency, his penchant for politicking, his lack of politicking, his selfish overspending, his showy under-spending, or his poor character. You don't need to fret for a single second because the head of the church on earth and in heaven is CHRIST. His character is perfect, his heart is humble and merciful, his power to save is infinite, and his reign over all things is as sovereign as it is wise. He will not fail you; he will not disappoint you; he will not change into something you fear; he will be faithful to you unto the end of your days, and when it is time for you to go home, he will greet you at gates of glory, and his eyes will be kind, his arms will be stretched wide as they were on Calvary's wrath-bearing cross, and you will live with him forever.
