@Tommy_Wolfe7 @Robert_Tinney I’m not deliberately being argumentative Tommy, I love your work. I’m just a frustrated Bombers fan who fears that with the wrong coach at the helm, teaching and developing this crop of young blokes, that they will become the Francis, Cox, Perkins & Hobbs of years gone by.

@ForrestsMind @Robert_Tinney I think it highlights that not all top ten picks are the same (or at least developed the same). Essendon I think in the last two (and next two) drafts are trying to find their A graders. And you may be right on Scott’s coaching acumen. But I agree he’s raised the club standards

@DrewPavlou Forget that guy Drew. His bio says he’s “exposing the dodginess of property, NDIS, politics and international education” and his @ is LITERALLY ‘PotStirrer’!! You and Pete are doing great work and people in the minor leagues of your sphere will always hate those at the top.

The funny thing is that given union award wages in Australia, I would actually make MORE money as an unskilled labourer than as a political activist and writer. I could make $200,000 a year or more doing unskilled labouring work. I could then go off to Bali 6 times a year and snort that all away on coke and jet skis. But I am not mentally retarded. I am interested in more than money, I am interested in changing Australia for the better. This cope mindset is an example of why the right wing always loses. I am building a substantial engine for political influence - the President of the United States literally called the Australian PM at 2 AM over my posts. And hundreds of thousands of Australians support what I have to say and appreciate the work that I put in. I believe I am doing good work pushing the country in a better direction. And this guy just goes “you should give it all up to dig ditches labouring for 6 months because THATS WHAT A REAL MAN IS MATE!!!!” Why are you addicted to losing? I am objectively one of the most impactful Australian conservative writers and activists right now, and you want me to go dig ditches? Are you retarded? How would that help anybody? The Albanese Labor government is bringing hundreds of thousands of unskilled migrants to Australia each year, maybe they can go dig ditches if you think the height of human perfection and contribution is digging ditches. Just cannot understand this incomprehensible mindset.

@DrewPavlou Asking the public for money isn’t really locking in mate lol. Locking in would be doing 6x 12 hour days labouring for 6 months

@Tommy_Wolfe7 @Robert_Tinney My point being that I rate B.Scott as an administrator helping to raise our club to industry standard, as you’ve put it. I just don’t see him being the right fit as coach for the talent already there and what’s coming through. Just my opinion 🤷🏻‍♂️

@Tommy_Wolfe7 @Robert_Tinney Riewoldt, Edwards, Cotchin & Rance were there before Dimma and Martin, Astbury & Grimes arrived the same offseason. Similarly, the Dons had McGrath, Parish, Francis, Hurley, Wright, Heppell, Stringer, Cox, Perkins & Reid (all top 10 picks), but have still gone backwards.

@Tommy_Wolfe7 @Robert_Tinney Great article BTW, but Richmond had a great coach in Hardwick embedded from 2010 With his year on year wins being 6,8,10,15,12,15,8 before the ‘imminent juggernaut’ clicked Scott has gone backwards with 11,11,6 and likely less in 2026 while turning over similar amounts of players

@Robert_Tinney 100% - I released an article today on this exact idea. Essendon needs to stay the course this time.

@Tommy_Wolfe7 Thanks Tommy. Have any of these players elevated themselves into the genuine top 3-5 draft range already? Bombers fan, so attention is on the next draft crop already 😞

Talent leagues around the country are now in full swing and there’s been plenty of markers dropped by talented players across a variety of positions. While you wait for my first power rankings, here’s a reminder of my 30 to watch heading into 2026: readingtheplay.wordpress.com/2025/11/28/30-…

He can't keep getting a game can he? 8 disposals in 80 minutes (6 uncontested) 9 pressure acts in 80 minutes All that at 38% disposal efficiency 2 tackles in 80 minutes Constantly playing a player short every week with this

@BradKlibansky The issue is that our top end experienced talent don’t work hard & contribute the way theirs does. Bont, Dale, Naughton, Lobb, English, Kennedy & Williams against Merrett, McGrath, Langford, McKay, Wright, Parish & Duursma. With the additional 3 being Perkins, Gresham & Guelfi 🤷🏻‍♂️

@FlightPlanPod My question is would you take Petracca at Essendon for a leadership and elite preparation example? And woukd you consider trading Melbourne their first round pick back to them for him, with the kicker being that they pay a % of his wage for the remainder of the contract?

What's the best way to fast-track Essendon into consistently challenging for finals? The Brisbane method of bringing in Luke Hodge for his leadership on & off the field ostensibly makes sense. Nick Vlastuin is one guy to look at. Great leader, still playing at a high level, would help instil those flag-winning non-negotiables on the younger guys. Overpay him to make the switch and have it transition into a coaching role. What do you guys think?
