Gizmodo offers three opinions on if China beats US to the Moon. My comments include: Some argue that because the U.S. has already been to the Moon, we have nothing to prove to China. But if they beat us, they will still rub our capitalist noses in it. China will seize the opportunity to undermine American space leadership and court international partners, some of whom are already unhappy with our churn on programs. Why wouldn’t they go to the Chinese who are probably going to execute on time?

@GregWAutry @markreiff @NASA @NASAJPL @bigbangtheory After spending $10B to build JWST, nobody could answer the marginal cost of production question and why, assuming it was under $1B, wouldn't we just build a bunch more to match the demand for the science.

It isn’t easy to attract top technical talent on government pay in today’s competitive climate, but if any agency can it is NASA under this administrator. I strongly recommend people look at the opportunity to contribute during these most exciting of times!

Business skills can be learned by some engineers. But if you don't understand the engineering, you won't make good decisions. Does Elon have an MBA?

Thank you for educating and inspiring the world and for constantly revealing insights that should make each of us pause and reflect on the very miracle of existence. NASA science - going back to Mariner and Pioneer - has always given me perspective that I hope has made me a better person.

Like a degree in STEAM before going after an MBA, but also, this should be taught to engineers as part of engineering. What you do is up to you, I'm just talking generally.

Making more after earning a MBA doesn't mean you can afford to fully pay back the loans in a timely manner. Rent, mortgage and/or car note come first and are often less.

Let me try one last time to translate before I conclude that you won't see info that conflicts with your preconceptions. Grok is telling that the available information susggest lot more MBA's pay off loans - if they have - than with most other degrees. I have 26 years in high education at four institutions (UC Irvine, USC, ASU and UCF) an I am telling you the same thing. I wouldn't be doing this if it were not so. Your early comment that some schools perform better that others is, of course true, as is it in every field. I'm not suggesting you go to on online diploma mill or some random rural college, but the mid schools are delivering value to their students. I'm against making that a major unto itself. Engineering comes first. Though I guess people who aren't good at math need jobs too.

"Not business skills" lol. You're an utter fool if you don't think Elon has won with business skills.... Tesla and SpaceX are amazing cases of strategic brilliance well executed. Having the best technical product only gets you into Betamax, Napster, Palm Pilot position. Understanding supply chain management, pricing strategies, timing, finance, publicity, negotiation and the rest makes a business. Yes the traditional MBA curriculum can be disastrous for firms, so are JDs - read my book A New Entrepreneurial Dynamic on that topic.

@GregWAutry @markreiff @NASA @NASAJPL @bigbangtheory I can't think of a riskier investment than space. SpaceX thrives on tech. Not business skills. Same with Tesla. A lot of great companies have been destroyed by MBAs and CEOs.
