Watch our Blue Ghost Mission 2 lunar lander come together! This timelapse captures the assembly of our lander's main structural and fluid components. Next up, integrating avionics, payloads, and engines. Our Riders 2 the Dark mission features two vehicles: our Blue Ghost lander stacked atop our Elytra orbiter. Each is assembled separately before stacking at the launch site, creating a 22-foot-tall spacecraft—more than 3X the height of our Mission 1 lander. We just reached another mile marker as we prepare for our journey to the Moon's far side! The team completed static load testing for our Elytra barrel and dual payload attach fitting that houses ESA's Lunar Pathfinder satellite. This rigorous testing at our Rocket Ranch verifies the structures can handle the extreme pressure they'll experience during launch. This achievement means all primary structures have passed acceptance testing for Blue Ghost Mission 2 and are ready to be assembled together!

It takes a long time to get data back from space and even longer to process it. On Blue Ghost Mission 2, we’re doing something that has never been done before— running AI directly from lunar orbit using @NVIDIARobotics Jetson platform. Our Elytra orbiter will process lunar images in space and send back critical insights in near real-time instead of raw data that takes weeks or even months to analyze. This trophy, awarded by @NatlAero only when achievements represent a defining leap forward in aviation and spaceflight, places Firefly among the ranks of Orville Wright, Chuck Yeager, and the Apollo 11 astronauts. As said by @NASAAdmin , Jared Isaacman, "Firefly proved that a U.S. company can successfully design, build, launch, land, and operate a spacecraft on another world while delivering meaningful scientific value for @NASA and the American taxpayer." Reflecting on what this means for the future, @Jason_Lil_Kim added: "Somewhere tonight, a child will look up at the Moon differently because of what this team achieved." That may be the greatest legacy of all.
