Does anybody have an overview over the SKU numbers for #IBM POWER9 CPUs? Want to buy a bigger one for my @RaptorEng Blackbird, but most sellers only give you the SKU number without details.

FreeBSD uses 206 MB of RAM on desktop. Its 15.0-RELEASE with #PKGBASE and @XLibreDev X11 server and @Openbox/@Tint2/@Dzen2 desktop. The htop(1) shows 230 MB but I subtracted: - 19 MB for xterm(1) - 5 MB for htop(1) 230 - 19 - 5 = 206 They were only used to measure RAM usage.

I just released this week's FreeBSD snapshot builds: lists.freebsd.org/archives/freeb… Of note, we're no longer building i386, powerpc, or powerpcspe images for FreeBSD 15.0-CURRENT. It took a while, but the world is moving on from 32-bit systems.

@Th_Th_ Correct. CUDA does not work. But this Tool (Ollama) used the Vulcan Libs which are slower but work seamlessly

@Th_Th_ For the FreeBSD demo I used an old GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. You have to install the nivida-drivers and kmods and check with nvidia-smi if the model uses the GPU. Sounds like a good topic for another blog post :-)

@vermaden @ollama @OpenWebUI I'm working on a tutorial for FreeBSD as well. Most modules be right away with uv/pip, for FreeBSD it needs a little more work. I'm on it :-)

@HackacadNet @ollama @OpenWebUI I just checked the guide and wanted to do the same ... and it got me really disappointed. I wanted to set it up on FreeBSD ... and the 'requirement' is macOS :( Let me know when there will be FreeBSD version.

FreeBSD 14.3-RELEASE images are starting to hit mirrors. Reminder: It's not official until a GPG-signed email goes out to the freebsd-announce mailing list. We probably won't have to pull the release at this point, but if we do it wouldn't be the first time it has happened.
