@XLibreDev hi, i just updated my linux and noticed something nasty. were you aware of this? chrome/chromium now demands wayland by default and has to be launched with --ozone-platform=x11 to work with xlibre, or it fails (with only a console error)

We forked the #KDE Plasma Login Manager. It now runs on #X11, drops privileges after init, and supports #systemd-free too. We tested it on Artix Linux with OpenRC, CachyOS with systemd, and on the #FreeBSD-based GhostBSD. #SonicDE sonic-login-manager youtube.com/watch?v=rTnV7-…

FreeBSDと比較してGentoo Linuxの問題点。 パッケージが少ない。約半分ぐらいか？ まだxlibreが使えない。 ローリングリリースのメリットは最新バージョンを随時使用できることだが結局使うのは旧バージョンである。 かつてFcitx5の対応も非常に遅くて辛かった。 FreeBSDの方が良いような。う〜ん。

@WilburJaywright Thank you for sharing the ideas! They're both really good, so yes, kind of a missed opportunity. On the other hand, we also like the "Libre" part of our name. The "L" in FOSS seems to be needed now more than ever. ;-)

@XLibreDev a guy in the Sonic DE discord server suggested you missed a naming opportunity with Xellence. I suggest Xelsior because the purpose of your project seems quite literally that Xorg need not stop where it is and could continue higher

Rolling GNU/Linux distro done right: @Gentoo never imposed systemd and even built ways around it. Arch chose the opposite path: tighter coupling, less choice, and recent censorship of @XLibreDev that raises eyebrows.

@thiscall @vaxryy We have a user report that confirms this for AMD graphics cards at least. There may be more, but that needs to be verified before commenting on it.

people who say X11 just works and is great are simply deluding themselves with their terminal-only "I got used to all the bugs and missing features" setup

A KDE Advisory Board Member (and Arch Linux Package Maintainer) has stated that XLibre (the Xorg fork) developers are fascists that cannot be tolerated. This statement was in response to a question about packaging XLibre in the Arch Linux official repository. Tomaz Canabrava: “about the tolerance paradox: if one project says that DEl is a discriminatory policy (like xlibre does), i the term facist applies. we cant tolerate the intolerant.”
