The missionary with a family history that goes back to Adam and Eve. During his service in the Peru Trujillo South Mission, Elder Scooles has not only been recognized for his dedication to the Gospel, but also for something truly amazing: he has managed to trace his family tree back to Adam and Eve. It all happened when he shared his family tree with members of the neighborhood where he was assigned. The reaction was immediate: total amazement. While many manage to trace their ancestors back to generations 20 or 25, Elder Scooles presented a record with hundreds of generations, including names dating back thousands of years before the birth of Jesus Christ. Their family tree, stored in FamilySearch, contains so much data that even the app had difficulty loading the information completely. From their closest grandparents to Old Testament characters, their family line seems to stretch without limits. According to records, their family history dates back to the year approximately 4,069 to 3,070 BC, where mentioned Adam and Eve appear (Adam and Eve). This event not only impressed local members but also prompted conversations about the importance of missional work and family history, highlighting how both can go hand in hand to strengthen witness and sense of belonging in the Gospel.
