@AuthorTRobare Admittedly I didn’t keep up with reading much more after that, sadly…but I did learn his genius and have admired and respected it ever since.

@AuthorTRobare Most probably just never tried. I know I was that kid, rolling my eyes in English class when we were told to read Macbeth out loud…then eventually blown away by how much weight and beauty could be conveyed with such grace and brevity!

I actually don't understand people that don't like Shakespeare. You don't like pure skill and absolutely amazing storytelling?!

@ShinraZeroP @alexutopia That’s why amateur artists fail, they think as you do, and it causes them to under price themselves, then inevitably they burn out, because they can’t stay a float while working in a constant grind.

@ShinraZeroP @alexutopia Actually a bit false, I mean you’re not wrong that people think that’s what they’re paying for, but in actuality the reason pro artists price so high is precisely because that’s actually what you’re paying for, their time and their skill, not just a finished piece.

A lot of artists thought their value came from labor: Hours spent. Pain endured. Techniques acquired. But audiences were never paying for your suffering. They were paying for impact. AI is forcing that truth out into the open.

@RyanPMcGowan @DougTenNapel I’m happy to champion all of humanity’s efforts good sir! I’m a huge fan of humanity in fact, in everything we’ve accomplished with our own hands…why you think I’m so opposed to robots replacing us? 🧐 I’m even impressed with the minds who built these Ai…just not the Ai itself

Ai doesn't address the David being carved out of marble. Giant, difficult, impossible skill level classic art not only isn't being done by Ai, it isn't being done by 99.9% of the artists of the last 100 years. I'm a pop-culture, mass-media artist (among other types of art I also make) and have produced and delivered over 50 projects entertaining tens of millions of people and not a single member of that audience was aware of the work it takes nor did they care what processes we used so long as they were entertained. Ai makes pop-media easy and cheap. I highly doubt that if the audiences "bought" more Simpson's with their attention than The David carved in marble that they will suddenly find their art integrity and refuse Ai. Though, if they're going to ditch Ai on the principle that it isn't the David carved in marble, I hope they'd also reject McDonald's, The Simpson's and even Earthworm Jim with this new found, mass revival of maturity and commitment to Truth, Goodness and Beauty.

@RyanPMcGowan @DougTenNapel So because I’m not aware of every single last detail of a massive supply chain and industry…that then means I don’t really care? 🤨 Some logic you got there….nobody knows everything my dude, but I don’t have to, I still very much care about how a piece of art is made.

@RyanPMcGowan @DougTenNapel Same, been in my local music scene 20+ years, playing in bands and drawing for bands. They’re constantly getting asked (as has my bands, so asking me directly quite often) who did the merch and posters…so idk man, either your posters suck, or the scene you’re in does.

Sorry man. I've done music for over twenty years. Posters are a non factor in people going to shows. I've had exactly zero (0) people ever ask me who did the poster for a show. And I saw that with all the love in my heart because my friend DJ makes amazing posters for our shows.

@IAMROLLES @DougTenNapel That's not what supply chain is. I recommend learning how many people are involved with making a pencil. You'll discover that it's a double digit percentage of the world population that is involved.

@RyanPMcGowan @DougTenNapel The logic there is simple; if a band didn’t care enough to support an artist to create for their promos, then why should anyone support their band? Can apply that thinking to almost any industry.

@RyanPMcGowan @DougTenNapel Let me tell you something I know from experience; I do poster designs a lot, for local bands to promote shows. Could they cut me out and save costs? Absolutely…but they don’t, do you know why? Because they know a good poster from a known artist gets more people in the door.

@RyanPMcGowan @DougTenNapel People are discovering just how connected we are to art…before Ai, many never had to think about it, because it was just a given that another person made it. Now…those people are discovering something they used to take for granted; why art inspires them, because people made it.

@RyanPMcGowan @DougTenNapel So stop projecting onto me, I know myself a bit better than you. I understand as an artist I’m maybe a special case, benefits me to look under the hood…but what I’m saying is, I’ve been noticing that perhaps I’m not. Many people, non artists even, seem to care just as much.

@dfhsdhs79765 @sappholives83 It’s the lack of due process YOU should be concerned about…that’s not permissible even for really serious criminals….but you think it should be allowed for someone who just didn’t do some paperwork 20 odd years ago?

@dfhsdhs79765 @sappholives83 You really haven’t been paying attention…a LOT of mistakes are being made. People being falsely arrested, some held for months. Some being sent straight into prison camps in places like Venezuela…disappearing without any due process, incarcerated with HARD criminals, for what?

Nothing to see here; just the “good guys”fantasizing about putting Republicans in concentration camps. This is the ultimate destination for any movement that sees violence as a rational response to disagreement.
