This is our God: Jesus, King of Peace, who rejects war, whom no one can use to justify war. He does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war, but rejects them, saying: “Even though you make many prayers, I will not listen: your hands are full of blood” (Is 1:15).

I’m really liking his takes
Mark Cuban@mcuban

Let me help rephrase for you Bernie. Need a loan for college so you can party for a semester and drop out? Taxpayers will loan you money for it. Need an SBA loan for your business ? Taxpayers will guarantee it. For a house ? Taxpayers will guarantee it. And local gov will give you money for your first down payment ! Get sick or are in an accident and you can’t afford your deductible, insurance company denied prescribed care or are uninsured ? You are on your own 😤 Let me add Bernie, the one debt not a single one of us will ever pay off till the day we die ? Our health insurance premiums And before you go in and on about single payer, ask @claudeai to take a look at your proposed Single Payer legislation. You want the Sec of HHS to run it. You can’t have a political appointee run an apolitical position And you expect every provider and doctor to accept whatever rate is set by Medicare. Big hospitals don’t know their costs. They couldn’t do a BOM for any procedure. They have negligible transparency. If they don’t know their costs, and you don’t know their costs, how is it possible for taxpayers, caregivers and patients to get a fair deal ? And the concept of “every other country does it “ ignores the fact that they all converted decades and decades ago, long before you and your peers allowed the extreme vertical integration we face now. Which leads to the question. @BernieSanders , why have you not advocated for the Break Up Big Medicine Bill ?

@JaredDHardin The only potential reason would be the mass resignation of long time doj attorneys under this admin. If it’s happening it’s a brand new occurrence.

@IPStrategyGuide I hope not. But, based on my own two eyes, it is. Even if it's not policy.

The million dollar question about AI that everyone is overlooking: Right now, how much would you honestly pay for access to ChatGPT, Claude, etc.? For most business owners, the answers are shockingly high. And it's orders of magnitude more than $20... Guess what comes next?

I think what Codie is saying is that Claude is helping to reduce her organization's overall legal spend. That's a good thing, guys! Lawyers get really defensive about these kinds of posts. They read them to say "AI is completely replacing lawyers." She explicitly refutes that in the comments. Here's where we are at: > AI can help you get smart on legal matters > It can help you end-to-end with routine and simple legal tasks with low stakes > It can reduce spend on ministerial elements for more complex medium- and high-stakes work > Some of its abilities are really good; some are suspect > But be sure to always consult an attorney for anything of significance I am a lawyer myself. When I am dealing with a matter outside my core compentency, I use AI to get up to speed. Then, I consult an attorney with significant experience in that area of expertise to ensure that it's handled correctly. Anything less would be reckless. Over time, that might change as AI compentecy increases and tools evolve. But cost and access will also evolve, so it's anyones guess where all this is headed.

Claude for legal work is saving me 6 figures already this year... (also it's just as good as Harvey shockingly).

@Mark_A_K_W @Codie_Sanchez Harvey can do office action responses and licenses and pull from CLMs. We did not evaluate Legora because it is supposedly targeted to law firms and legal research. I’m in commercial businesses and Harvey is perfect for us.

I've heard more positive things said of Legora than Harvey. How much is the context engineering and rag, and how much Harvey being on lesser Chatgpt and Legora on leader Claude I don't know. I use Claude for IP research, and even without using our UK precedents, context and rag it's extremely impressive.

@fromaustinc @Codie_Sanchez Law is expensive for expertise, judgement, and strategic advice. AI allows for more of this by attorneys and less lower risk level transactional work. And I hate paying outside counsel.

@Codie_Sanchez Law was always expensive because of time. AI compressing time = wild cost changes.

"just as good as harvey" is the part that should terrify every legal AI startup charging enterprise rates. if a $20/month claude subscription matches your vertical SaaS, your moat was never the AI, it was the compliance wrapper and sales team. this pattern repeats across every industry: generic frontier models keep eating specialized tools.

@Codie_Sanchez The Harvey comparison is the part people should pay attention to. Vertical AI tools charging enterprise prices for what a general model can do with good prompting. The moat was never the model. It was the compliance wrapper and the sales team.

Lots of cope from the lawyers in the replies. Oh and I'm a lawyer. Rote and routine legal with <$x at risk is going to AI. Matters with risk >$x but <$y will be AI with legal review That > $y will go to external so there's someone to sue if it goes wrong. Better get ready to adjust.

@Codie_Sanchez It is not as good as Harvey or other legal AI tools. I’ve compared and I’m a practicing attorney. It’s not even close and can’t be, that’s part of the algorithms.

The wars that stain the present moment with blood are the fruit of the idolatry of power and money. Let us not grow accustomed to the clamor of weapons and images of war! #Peace is not merely a balance of power. It is the work of purified hearts, of those who see others as brothers and sisters to be protected, not enemies to be defeated. #ApostolicJourney vatican.va/content/leo-xi…

I’ve been sharing this opinion now for years. Putting money in a tax deferred retirement account is insane. Tax rates by the time you retire will be astronomically high — so high that they will offset any tax-advantaged returns come 20-40 years from now. All you need to do is see the writing on the wall. The global trend is crystal clear. Debt is out of control. Not to mention all kinds of ridiculous under-investment in infrastructure, environment, etc. I haven’t saved for retirement since 2020. Pay your taxes today and keep the liquidity… don’t let someone else tell you when you’re allowed to spend your money anyway.

There are about 430,000 U.S. households worth $30 million or more, according to an analysis of Federal Reserve data. Within that, there are about 74,000 worth $100 million or more. Crazy numbers.
