@DrPippaM @jakebarber2025 On the bright side, all this censorship will lead to even more people wanting to learn what all the fuss is about. Happens all the time.

If you want to watch cancel culture and the Deep State in motion, follow the attacks on wiki pages. It’s an assassination effort, albeit character assassination. What does this tell us? Quite a lot.

I'm DONE with @tacobell !!! I will no longer run for the border. They must purposely try to get my order wrong everytime and every location I go to. The prices are going up equally as fast as the "quality" is going down. (*But I'll still take my kids bc i love them too much)

I host a podcast called TipsyNeighbors and through our website, a listener posted a question to me about my episode, specifically why I didn’t mention my time working as webmaster of hackers.com. Wow! What a flashback! To be honest I didn’t even think to mention that part of my life, despite the amazing experiences I had then. I first met Ed Wilkinson aka HackingWiz, in 1992 or 3… sometime around the end of my high school days. I was chatting with the SysOp of a large local BBS in Utah called Hacker’s Haven. After talking for a bit we both realized I lived around the corner from his new home, where the BBS was hosted. He invited me over and I spent most of the night talking shop, and getting a VIP tour of the entire setup. I knew we would be friends for years to come. On another occasion he rebuilt my dying 286 into a 386 for free to keep me coding. During the 2 years I served a Mormon mission in Spain he kept me updated with a lot of tech things, sending me articles he printed off this new thing he was working with called the World Wide Web. While I was out he said he’d bought a domain name called Hackers.com. He offered me the opportunity to work with him on it. He even paid for my Internet for a few months when I got home. I became the Webmaster of Hackers.com. Around that time Microsoft launched their Activate the Internet competition to launch Internet Explorer. I coded up a few ActiveX controls and ended up placing well enough to place. I basically won a few sets of Visual Studio, heh. Anyway, my time with him would be cut short as I ended up joining Packet Engines and relocated to work on Gigabit Ethernet, as their webmaster. Little did I know when I said my good byes, that that would be the last time I would see Ed. We lost him in 98 if I remember correctly. After the sale of Packet Engines to Alcatel, I talked to Bernard Daines, the CEO of Packet Engines about a security project, and suggested we try and buy the Hackers.com domain. Something was fishy as we tried to negotiate the purchase. I would find out that there was a legal battle between those who ran Ed’s business interests, and his dear widow. I needed up testifying in court, helping to win control of the domain for the party I felt was truly the owner. After a few months and a $250,000.00 offer, the radio went silent. After calling attorneys I found out that another group had promised millions of dollars if they were to gain control of the domain. They chose that offer instead of our guaranteed cash. They never saw a dime, in fact, the domain would be stolen, ironically, by a hacking group. We launched ProHacktive.com as an attempt to carry on with the project, but more business complications would arise. Over the years I had the opportunity to work with some great young people, some security enthusiasts, some programmers. We had fun sharing our love of hacking, which in our definition was learning all we could about the technology that betters our lives. To this day I still think of Ed frequently. I try and pass along the same kindness as he gave me. It’s what he did. I sure wish I could page him from the board terminal and chat with him. Sometimes it was a bug that I couldn’t quite figure out. Other times it was the struggle of living in a new place and not having anybody else I could really talk to about how lonely I was feeling. They had hundreds of a calls a day, and I can probably count on one hand the number of times I did not read him answering within a few seconds. “SysOp has joined the chat.” Thank you, Ed, for all the opportunities. Thank you, former HDC staff, for being so generous with your time and talents.
