@jeremymunson As far as the companies offering to file on your behalf, they should be required to have to state in BOLD PRINT that you do this yourself online for free.
The State of Minnesota fails the business community by allowing this scam to continue unchecked.

New Scam: Anyone can be the CEO of the Minnesota Vikings (or any company) for NO COST ( mblsportal.sos.mn.gov/Business/Searc… ). A fraudster just used the MN Secretary of State's business filing "annual renewal" feature online at no cost to file an amendment during the renewal to make themselves CEO of my company. The only way to remove them is to pay a $55 fee and file an updated articles of incorporation document, which would then admit that this person was CEO of the company from the time they filed until your amendment is accepted. And there is nothing preventing this fraudster from filing another amendment just after mine.
After a lengthy call with the @MNSecofState 's office, I learned that this is a common scam, and instead of waiting for the July 1st date to file my renewal, I should log on January 1st each year and 'claim my free renewal before the scammers do.' They also recommended filing a police report and opening a case with the Attorney General.
When I asked about a stranger logging in to make themself the CEO of US Bank or Target Corp or any other company in Minnesota, they claimed their hands are tied because the #mnleg directs the Sec of State.
In order to open a corporate bank account, you need a business filing by the Sec of State's office showing you are the registered agent. But for no cost and open to anyone on the internet, you can open an account in the name of the Minnesota Vikings, Target, or any other company you wish to hijack.
I've spent hundreds of hours combating identity theft, and this one is fueled by a ridiculous failure of the State government.
If you incorporated your business in Minnesota, go to the SoS website and check up on your business.

@thauserkstp Projecting blame on others for lack of trust in Minnesota elections, that's unacceptable.
