@redheadranting This question is so tired. And yeah. Tons of people are fed up and joining when they hadn’t before. Connections made. People are re-energized. Opposition is visible. The few people still supporting this administration can handle seeing it for a day, no? Or is it too upsetting?

Can someone explain to me what all the No Kings festivals accomplished? Did anyone change parties or their ideology because of them? Was anyone persuaded to join them?

I'm in a red state and I rented a car so I've been driving around since I landed. I can't get over how lovely it is here - and it doesn't matter where I am - it's not a blue state. There is no graffiti, there are no panhandlers, people fly their flags - American and state - and the state flag doesn't look like all the other new state flags with minimal star and light blue band. I haven't seen one "F*ck ICE" or "ICE Out" sign in anyone's windows or on their lawns or on businesses. The homes, even the ones in the shadier areas are well maintained. There are no bordered up businesses or block after block of decay. The potholes have been filled. It reminds me what the Twin Cities were like before the 2000s and I caught my breath thinking about how bad we let our once beautiful cities get. The Twin Cities, and other blue cities, do not have to be sh*tholes, it is possible to take pride in your town, and take it back. We just have to vote appropriately. Oh, and I've never seen this wine in Minnesota.

So my mom just accidentally sent me a 10 minute recording of a conversation with her, my dad, brother, and his wife where they spent the first 7+ minutes making fun of my spouse and I for taking COVID precautions.
