Help Board-Certify Doctors in Breastfeeding Med. As a physician participating in the 1st breastfeeding medicine fellowship training program in the world, I plan to seek this board certification if NABBLM succeeds in getting funded. gofund.me/526bf5e5

Maternity care is increasingly out of reach for women across the U.S.—contributing to the crisis of maternal health facing our nation. This is discouraging and unacceptable; we must do more to support mothers and newborns. statnews.com/2022/10/11/mat…

@Support_ROSE love this. Those who‘be spent time in the NICU know how hard it is to breastfeed & provide breastmilk, on top of the rest of life, birth recovery, older kids. I’ve experienced it as a parent & breastfeeding doc. Having support and help from families who have been there is huge!

Proud to share more widely the work I’ve been doing with Emily Swisher-Rosa, Wilberthe Pilate and Bobbi Phillip over the past year, creating the Breastfeeding Equity Center at Boston Medical Center. This is just the beginning! bmc.org/breastfeeding-…

💫 How did your week go? Mine was great because my team @the_emancipator w/ @amberwaves highlighted solutions to the Black women's breastfeeding crisis. @KateStandish7 + Afi Semenya + incredible nurse-midwives @The_BMC show us what happens when we pay attention to the details.
The Emancipator@the_emancipator

Wilberthe Pilate and Emily Swisher-Rosa are two faces of the new Breastfeeding Equity Center @The_BMC working to challenge the persistent inequities of a racist maternal healthcare system. Read about their efforts below:

Great first day in Baltimore with the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine and Reaching Our Sistere Everywhere in a PCORI workshop to identify the research gaps in human milk feeding clinical care and equity. What an amazing group and hugely important work!

So thrilled to highlight in the Boston Globe the work of my colleagues at Boston Medical Center and Brigham and Women’s Hospital to help address long standing racial inequities in breastfeeding. bostonglobe.com/2022/09/12/opi…
