Post reports that some seasonal workers at Sochi's Krasnaya Polyana resort are living in free employer-provided dormitories that locals call a “Mexican prison.” The building sits near luxury hotels, including a Marriott, where rooms can cost from $210 a night. It was built around 2013 for labourers constructing Olympic facilities. Twelve years after the Sochi Games, they are still being used to house resort staff. One hotel maid told Post she earns $600 a month and lives there because it's free. The news outlet says rooms can house two to four people, with shared showers and toilets on each floor. Former workers described bedbugs, cockroaches, mice, no proper kitchen, leaking bathrooms, broken fittings and filthy floors. Post contrasted it with viral videos showing young waiters making $15,000 in high season.
