An autorickshaw driver brutally assaulted a four-year-old boy by lifting him by his legs and slamming him to the ground before smashing his head on an iron rod following an argument with the minor's father in Maharashtra's Palghar district, police said on Tuesday. The incident took place in a housing society at Vasai on Monday night, following which the accused was arrested, they said, adding that the critically-injured child is battling for life in a hospital. The incident was captured on a CCTV camera. "The brutal incident took place around 8 pm on Monday. A minor argument between the accused autorickshaw driver Sandeep Pawar and the child's father Atul Kondhare took a gruesome turn," senior police inspector Balkrishna Ghadigaonkar told to media. The boy, Vignesh, was playing with other children in a parked autorickshaw. The accused then walked up to the vehicle and pulled the child out by his legs. He then lifted the minor in the air and forcefully slammed him to the ground, he said. "But the brutality did not stop there. Pawar then rushed inside the building while holding the child, and smashed his head against an iron rod before throwing him to the ground again. This was done solely to avenge a fight he had earlier with the boy's father over a minor issue," Ghadigaonkar added. The child sustained critical head injuries and was rushed to a hospital in Mira Road. He has been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) at the medical facility and is battling for life, he said. Accused Pawar was later arrested and remanded in three days of police custody by a local court. A case was registered against him under section 109 (1) (attempt to murder) and other sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, the police official said, adding that a probe into the incident is underway.

The baker was thrilled because my partner told her our budget for the cake was N900k. That was how we managed to have a "cake date" without paying a cent. The cake was actually quite good; however, a week after that date, she began acting strange. She rarely answered my calls and was very slow to reply to my messages. Whenever I asked to see her, she offered flimsy excuses. I was deeply hurt, and every time I complained, she just came up with more excuses. One day, while I was walking through town, I spotted the baker. I tried to hide, but she saw me and approached. She asked if we had enjoyed the wedding cake and said she hoped that what they delivered was exactly what we had ordered. I was completely confused because I had no idea what she was talking about. She then added that my "wife" had come in with her brother a week prior to show them the design they wanted, and that someone had picked it up that Saturday. The president of the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association is condemning the actions of Harris County District Judge Nathan Milliron, captured in a video that went viral over the weekend, and claiming the judge is now going after a well-known Houston attorney.  houstonpublicmedia.org/articles/court…

It gets worse. This weekend after seeing the video, a veteran criminal defense lawyer (with no cases in this guy’s civil court) wrote this judge an email telling the judge he needed to apologize. The judge responded by accusing the lawyer of making an ex parte communication and ordered him to appear next week under threat of contempt. I’m a member of the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association “Strike Force,” a group of several lawyers tasked with defending lawyers against judicial overreach at a moment’s notice. We’ll be there to make sure this judge does not try to jail a veteran lawyer just for exercising his First Amendment rights in criticizing an elected judge’s behavior.
