To participate: Turn off TV, computers, phone, and games. Observe your child reading for 30 minutes. Think and talk about the books afterward. Sign 100 BOOK CHALLENGE log sheets. Student packs up books for safe return to school. @SDoLancaster

The reason for this is simple: Research shows that students who read for one hour every day, from books that they can read and want to read, have a much better chance for success in school and beyond. @SDoLancaster

Step Up to the Challenge! Home reading steps officially start tonight for @SDoLancaster Elementary Students for the 100 Book Challenge. Every night, your child will bring home books and a log sheet. Your child should read for at least 30 minutes per night.
