The person controlling my hacked X account is now generating environmental content under my name to maintain the appearance that the account is still mine.
Please report the account if you encounter crypto, investment, or suspicious activity associated with it.

@ThetfordSteven I’m already up to 35 followers! Over the last year, X has increasingly depressed environmental narrative. I spend significant time crafting my posts so their algorithm doesn’t smother them. Now this. I suspect X would prefer I go away.

@Blueoceanarctic I don’t know enough about technology to answer that question in detail. I clicked on a link in a DM from someone who participates in Climate Crisis. Doing so allowed them to change my recovery email on X, control my account, and neutralize X tech support.

@Skogsfrun13 @lightsout4bird It is not mine. I’m unable to prevent more damage from my account being hacked. So far X support consists entirely of automated responses. Until that changes, I suspect things will keep getting worse.

Thank you for sharing the article, but please be aware the @ race2extinct account has recently been compromised and is no longer being controlled by Lyle Lewis. Whoever is in control reposted an older post maybe to maintain trust as they are possibly using dm messages to scam

@ArtForCC @Race2Extinct Thanks Beth. Evidently, it has become fairly common. The scam bypasses X’s automated security. Once someone changes your recovery email and phone number, it becomes an endless loop until an actual person at X intervenes.

My original @Race2Extinct ace2Extinct account was compromised through a phishing DM. The attacker changed the recovery email/phone and locked me out. Any messages, links, or requests from that account should not be trusted until further notice.

X support loop is automated and requires a recovery email. The entire reason I contacted support was because the attacker changed the credentials. X support won’t react because they can’t verify me without credentials. 🫤
