Learned about some awesome rock and roll history associated with my wife’s family today that is absolutely crazy.
Back in the late 1960s there was a wedding in Jacksonville - and the father of the bride hired a local band for the reception. In the first photo, you can see some of the girls playing with the band’s instruments. The lady in the green dress, holding the white guitar is my wife’s aunt, Karen. In the 2nd photo, you have the bride standing with the band…a rather unknown group called The One Percent.
That band would go on to become Lynard Skynard, with one exception. The bassist in this photo is Larry Junstrom, who would go on to found .38 Special. This unassuming family photo is literally the beginning of rock and roll Gods! Pretty cool stuff!
