This is actually really interesting that the CT is staged already. If they roll back the ML in the coming days, and with Artemis III booster segments already arriving into "surge", they aren't joking about accelerating to the next flight. They could be stacking A3 SRBs by the summer.

The Artemis II crew captured this image yesterday as the Earth dipped behind the Moon during their lunar flyby.
Paralleling the Earthrise image captured by the Apollo 8 crew in December 1968, today’s Earthset image will inspire a new generation of humanity to look up in awe and push space exploration even further.

The Second Dinosaur that still survives at WDW is everyone’s favourite Ice Cream Gertie! The star of the first ever animated movie, Gertie has been around since 1989 when the park was MGM Studios. Gertie will stick around for a long time because I don’t see Echo Lake leaving! 🦕

This photo of Earth is EXTRA spectacular for a good reason... let me explain. Most images you see of Earth from space are the daylight side of the Earth, and it's obviously very bright (see my last image), this means stars are too dim to be seen with that bright exposure setting (low ISO, high shutter and / or stopped down aperture). BUT this image taken by the Orion crew looks so incredible because you can see the sun is BEHIND the earth, meaning it's night time on the side of the earth facing the crew in this image. So how do you expose a night time earth from space? Same way you do on Earth! A mixture of opening up the aperture (F4 in this case), cranking the ISO (51,200 here), and using a relatively long exposure (1/4 of a second). We can see the settings used by looking at the exif data from the camera. What this means is our camera is also sensitive enough to see stars in the background of Earth, leading to an extraordinary image!!! GREAT WORK!!! These are the kind of images I've been so excited to see!

NASA astronauts have been allowed to use their phones in space, and Commander Reid Wiseman and Mission Specialist Christina Koch uploaded these photos shot on an iPhone 17 Pro Max SELFIE camera

Here's an overview of what the Artemis II crew will have the opportunity to capture during their lunar flyby this evening as we listen in now:
- Crescent Earth eclipsed by crescent Moon
- Crescent Earth reappearing from night side of the Moon
- Sun rising over illuminated lunar surface, perhaps solar corona
All of these and EVERYTHING in between when they put those cameras & lenses to work, especially the 400mm on the craters, ridges, peaks, anything else!
THIS IS SO DAMN WICKED!!!!
