With all due respect to the N12 reports on Sunday being the deadline, the official position doesn't agree. It doesn't mean N12 is misrepresenting, but it's still important to distinguish between official vs unofficial policy

I wish I understood what actually happened on Friday. Trump posted that Iran agreed to hand over all nuclear material, never close the Strait of Hormuz, end its nuclear program forever, and abandon its proxies. But Iran didn’t agree to any of it. We know that because they didn’t even agree to show up to talks.
So what actually happened behind the scenes? Pakistan giving over wrong info?

@EYakoby It is Absolutely fractured. Question is, will trump be able to leverage this in an effective way. Doesn't seem he is too excited about restarting bombing campaign and not clear that would even help. Troops in Iran doesnt seem likely. What else can he do? Hopefully he has a plan..

@MarioNawfal Absolutely an indicater. Yet at the same time it could just be part of a psy-op. Nonetheless considering that I don't see any way of Iran coming up with a Unified proposal given the internal fractions, renewed strikes seem like a high possibility. This is the unfortunate reality.

@MarioNawfal Note that this was not an official public statement from Trump. Which by definition leaves room for an already "flexible" deadline mechanism. On the other hand it aligns with estimated arrival of the Bush Air Craft Carrier to the region. Which brings it up to 3 Air Craft Carriers

N12 reports Trump’s ceasefire extension expires Sunday. Notice Trump did not make an official statement as such, but also notice that it seems to align with a 3rd US aircraft carrier's arrival to the Middle East, namley the USS Bush. Tensions are rising as the deadline nears.

"The losing side cannot dictate terms. The continuation of the siege must be met with a military response."
This is the advisor to the man leading Iran's negotiating delegation calling for war.
Not the IRGC. Not some anonymous hardliner.
If Ghalibaf's own circle is calling the ceasefire a trap and demanding military action, the internal fracture Trump just acknowledged is even deeper than it appeared.
The moderates aren't just fighting the IRGC for control of Iran's position. They're fighting their own teams.
Trump extended the ceasefire to give Iran time to "come up with a unified proposal."
Statements like this are proof of exactly why they need it.
Iran's government isn't debating terms with America right now.
It's debating with itself whether to keep talking or start shooting.

Entirely possible that Trump is ready to strike at any moment. Iran is probably shaking. As they have said, they don't agree to Trump's extension, if so there is effectively no ceasefire right now...

According to U.S. President Donald J. Trump, he has ordered the U.S. military to hold off on the resumption of strikes against Iran and maintain the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, saying that due to the fractures within Iran’s top civilian and military command structure, the ceasefire will remain in place until they can provide a unified response to the U.S. proposals.
