@milbfanclub I 100% agree. There is a lot more strategy to it and it won’t add spaces of dead air where there shouldn’t be. That hasn’t been a big problem yet, but I worry about it in the Postseason when pitchers are (understandably) in full “come on blue” mode

I've always liked ABS when it was at AAA. I shared earlier that I like how they fine tuned it to get it to 2 challenges. Keeps the game human but I also wonder if it would be even closer if they had 1 challenge only. Even more strategic. Same rule applies though. You win the challenge then you get to keep it but if you lose then it's all human for the rest of the game.

The ABS era is here and not everyone is thrilled about it. One former MLB ump says it could be “embarrassing” for umpires.
But if it gets the call right… is that a bad thing?
