So what's the difference? While Pi Day was created to celebrate the mathematical constant, International Day of Mathematics was brought about to celebrate and highlight the role of mathematics as a whole.

Moreover, whilst only a small percentage of women are involved in engineering in the UK, a recent study found that 80% of female engineers are happy in their job and that 98% of women find their job rewarding.
