This afternoon, I met with our son and the founder of Issac Balami, University of Aeronautics and Management (IBUAM) at the Government House, Maiduguri. I have directed immediate selection and sponsorship of indigent youths for degree programmes in high-value fields, including Piloting, Aeronautical Engineering and related disciplines. The selection process will prioritise indigent youths who demonstrate academic potential but lack the financial means to pursue such expensive courses of study. On our part, as the government of Borno State, we will do everything possible to support Issac Bamlami University of Aerunatics and Management within our reach. I want to most sincerely thank Mr Issac Balami for the offers he has given to the government and people of Borno State for the training of a sizable number of aircraft planners and aircraft technicians. The Commissioner for Education and the Executive Secretary of the scholarship board will liaise with IBUAM to see how candidates will be sent to pursue their degree programs. The Commissioner for Education and his team will identify the most vulnerable in the population who can benefit from this scheme: those who cannot afford, nor can their parents, to undertake those aeronautics courses. I have strongly warned that I don't want anyone close to the governor, the deputy governor, or the commissioners selected. The prices should be purely on merit! Mind you, I have to vet the list after the selection process.

Defection rumour a speculation from the imagination of wishful thinkers; my loyalty to the APC sacrosanct I have become aware of a fictitious and mischievous social media report circulating in certain quarters, alleging that I plan to decamp from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) alongside five other governors. This is entirely false and exists only in the imagination of its sponsors. They are detractors who have made no meaningful contribution to the progress of Borno State or Nigeria. It is a classic example of cheap, politically motivated speculation designed solely to distract us and create unnecessary political tension. My loyalty to the APC remains firm, and my dedication is solely to the welfare and progress of Borno State. I urge the good people of Borno and the general public to disregard this fabrication. We have no time for cheap politics; our hands are full with the noble task of rebuilding and developing our dear state. I call on media outlets and the public to verify information from credible official sources and to ignore the desperate fabrications of those seeking relevance through disinformation. We remain resolute in our commitment to serving Borno State under the banner of our great party, the APC.

Congratulations @AlikoDangote on the award of Senegal's national honor! I wish to extend my warm felicitations to Africa's richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, on his receipt of Senegal's highest national honour, "the National Order of the Lion," from President Macky Sall. The honor bestowed on him by the President of Senegal is a testament to his dedication, perseverance, and selfless commitment to the betterment of our societies and humanity. I remember with nostalgia Dangote's significant contributions to the reconstruction of the educational facilities and homes destroyed by Boko Haram insurgents in Borno. Today, all of us in Borno celebrate him not only as a business tycoon but also as a visionary leader who has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to our progress and prosperity.

Christmas: We must resist elements of religious disharmony in Borno I will like to felicitate with our Christian brothers and sisters in Borno State at the Christmas celebration. I will like us to also remember our history and how we have been tested by the challenges that confronted our state, especially since 2009. The security challenges we faced affected us as citizens, regardless of our faith. Boko Haram insurgents attacked dozens of mosques and churches as well as communities, killing Muslims and Christians at various times. They rendered many of our brothers and sisters homeless across the north, south and central parts of Borno State. As Governor, I have on numerous occasions paid humanitarian and reconstruction visits to diverse communities of all faiths in the south, north and central parts of the state because the attacks by insurgents mostly did not take religion into account. Everyone who did not share the Boko Haram ideology was a target, regardless of whether the victim was a Muslim or Christian. I have paid countless visits to communities in Chibok, Askira-Uba, Hawul, Biu, Gwoza, Monguno, Baga, Kala-Balge to mention but a few and at all times, my consideration has always been about critical humanitarian need and not religion. We have worked hard to rebuild and resettle communities with the consideration of fairness to the most affected portions of our 27 local government areas. While majority of citizens seem to appreciate all that we are achieving together, there are few amongst us, who in recent times are trying to undermine our core values and the religious tolerance that exist across Borno State. These few persons appear to ignore the truth that in Borno State, there are many families with mixture of Muslim and Christian members, sometimes from same parents, yet living together in harmony. These few persons seem to forget our experiences and how we have tried to resist aggressors who wanted to tear us along religious lines. We must resist any attempt to divide us along religious lines, especially now that Borno is on the part of economic recovery, growth and development. As Governor of Borno State, I pledge not to be distracted and I pledge to remain fair with the guiding principle of considering the urgency of humanitarian needs as they affect communities in all our continued responses across Borno State.

Muhammadu Buhari @ 81 Borno celebrates a beloved father Throughout his eight years as elected President (2015 to 2023), His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, never for a second, shied away from displaying his strong affection, overwhelming compassion and undiluted empathy for Borno State and its people. From his inaugural speech in 2015 to his actions till he left office, Buhari gave undivided attention to the fight against Boko Haram in Borno and rest of the northeast, just as he steadily accorded tremendous support towards the rehabilitation of victims, and their resettlement into new homes, sited in different parts of Borno and across the northeast, thousands of which were built and donated by the Federal Government he led. Buhari made all his humanitarian policies at the Federal level, deliberately in favour of our states’ Government determination to strengthen citizens’ resilience against Boko Haram. Buhari’s humanitarian policies, programmes and non kinetic counter insurgency measures, seriously undermined Boko Haram’s recruitment efforts and growth in Borno State. That hugely impacted on our security and stability. Interpersonally, I have lost count on the number of times Buhari visited Borno State during his eight years, whether the visit was to show empathy and build our communal resilience, to support our military, to commission developmental projects, to lay foundation for new projects or to enhance our socio-economic recovery. HE Muhammadu Buhari has been nothing short of a beloved father to Borno and its good people. We today, as we will always do, celebrate a beloved father of Borno State. Happy 81st Birthday to HE Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR. May Allah grant our father many more blissful years and in the best of health, strength, faith and wisdom. Amin thumma amin.
