@LeadingReport Look at that ominous lighting in that photo 🤣🤣🤣
Amazing.
English

@PsymonLink @Acyn The fact that he is voiceless in discussions like the below, shows how little care/respect Trump has for HHS and the American people.
Pushing beef tallow and raw milk and being silent when SNAP cuts vegetable allowances for pregnant moms and poor children is toneless.

Sec. Kennedy: Mercury is absolutely—it’s the most powerful neurotoxin we know of in the universe.
Rep. Harder: So why are you working for an administration that is doubling the amount of mercury pollution in our air and water?
Sec. Kennedy: I am running HHS and I’m ending the chronic disease epidemic. I’m not going to comment on that because I don’t know anything about it.
Rep. Harder: Well, that’s very convenient for you, and it shows a significant degree of cowardice. It’s not just mercury. President Trump in July 2025 granted 50 chemical plants—
Sec. Kennedy: Why don’t you ask me something that I’m in charge of instead of other things?
Rep. Harder: Are you not in charge of Health and Human Services?

Wow, that’s the first I’m hearing about WIC cuts.
Not shocking from Trump‘s proposed budget given that his whole approach is to wean people off of dependency on government assistance programs.
That’s absurd though – I hope Congress pushes back there.
After looking it up, I found that for some reason WIC falls under USDA (?) and not HHS.
RFK wasn’t silent on this, it was discussed during the hearing yesterday.
I guess there’s multiple other programs under HHS that could help overcompensate the cuts under the USDA if it does go through.
Hopefully it doesn’t get to that point.

@GenePark I love that this story got your attention! Kudos 👏👏👏

Talked to Ohio police about the 91-year-old woman they found gaming when she wouldn't respond to welfare checks
Flexed old crime journalism muscles; had fun writing this like a police procedural. At least the only thing in danger here was her high score

I respectfully disagree that he should quit. He took this role to make an impact on chronic disease, kids health, etc. Make positive change where you can, right?
HHS is always kind of a catch all for any health related issues, understandably.
Every other department is much more compartmentalized, yet can be tangential to health related issues.
Unfortunately, Zeldin and Burgum are strategically aligned with Trump on fast energy solutions.
I don’t see any reality where HHS can have an impact on those decisions.
There are some collaborations with HHS and EPA – for example he’s working with Zeldin on their newly formed, microplastics agenda.
Maybe that’s starting off point to eventual broader health/environmental discourse. That would be great.
English

@PsymonLink @Acyn If the HHS Secretary believes that the EPA is enacting policies that are a threat to the health of the American public, we should know about it.

😂 I get it, but I guess things are just being rolled back to 2012 regulations under Obama from what I understand?
I'm all for more regulation on this stuff, but with the influx of industry that's apparently coming home--I'm sure all the red tape makes it tough to execute.
Hopefully we find some middle ground that's not too damning.
English

@PsymonLink @Acyn It's like asking the fire marshal why they are supporting the "free matches for children" campaign.
English

2024? I wrote in an independent. First time ever. Just didn't like the blatant neglect of the American People that I saw from both parties.
Odd year for it, I know--especially after all of the lawfare preventing a legitimate third option. I'm not sure that we'll ever get one--hope I'm wrong. 🤞
English

@PsymonLink @grassfedted @Acyn Just curious who'd you vote for in 2024 given that you have no party affiliation.
English

I feel you. I don't see much cagey--he doubled down on the mercury comments.
I think his stance on all of this is pretty well cemented over the last 40 years.
It's more of a, not critiquing another departments actions.
But you understand this whole gotcha approach in these committee hearings is all for clips, right? (and this is a great "gotcha" -- kudos to them)
I mean that's the whole point of why I chimed in here-- he's been steamrolled through these things in gross fashion since his appointment and before.
It's not just this one from House Ways, its the confirmation hearings, Energy and Commerce committee, House Appropriations Committee, etc.
They all have the same tone, same energy, same agenda.
It reminds me of those local news anchor supercuts where they're all saying the same thing, because they literally have the same corporate script.
Apologies for the length -- you caught me at a good time.
If you watch those other hearings, you'll see what I mean. There's a clearly defined agenda.
English

@PsymonLink @Acyn So why was he so cagey about offering his opinion on commercial chemical pollution?
English

@Vershungphl @Acyn Chase, buddy... go compliment someone today.
It'll feel good. 🫶
English

@PsymonLink @Acyn Lolololol “no one’s seen this level of scrutiny” bullshit. Shove it up your maga cumdump ass
English

@snitchin_bubs @Acyn He certainly does--spent his whole career on it.
English

@PsymonLink @Acyn But the health effects of pollution is something that you’d expect the HHS Secretary to have a strong opinion on.
English

@PsymonLink @Acyn Fire Marshals are also typically deputized and sworn in law enforcement officials, so it would also be entirely relevant to ask them about “police matters” as well!
It’s not the analogy that’s flawed, it’s your brain. It’s actually a great analogy for RFK’s role.
English

@Normal_n_Online @Acyn ** the assumption being the arrest is a police matter—as in, not something you’d go to the fire department for.
But this is actually a great point— you are spot on! Analogy flawed!
..you kiss your mother with that mouth?
English

@PsymonLink @Acyn Fire Marshals typically have arrest powers you fucking idiot. So it would be entirely relevant to ask them about wrongful arrests. Great example!
English

@PsymonLink @Acyn I cannot wait for AI to be banned social media, so dumb cunts like you can't spam social media with chat gpt summarizing posts.
English

You can disagree with the approach, but to say it’s weaker is subjective.. too early to tell at this point.
It’s a complete philosophical shift—pushing back hard against bureaucratic bloat and industry capture.
This “heat” is performative theater, ratcheted up to 11… you know that, right?
All of these congressmen, trying to out-“YouTube” the others for that viral clip.
Pretty gross, honestly.. regardless of party affiliation (of which I have none).
English

@PsymonLink @Acyn No rug pull. He knew the pigs he was joining.
The heat is warranted. HHS is weaker with him at the helm.
English

Was gonna insert random petro-chemical food dye joke here, but upon my due diligence I discovered the 2026 batch removed them in favor of…*checks notes* …fruit and vegetable juice concentrate (whatever that is..)
So yeah, you’re right.. they did go back in time.
You’re literally tasting old school Dew.
