They take the shrinkage and adjust pricing based on whether the shrinkage was more than they projected. I never said they file for every little thing.

yep correct some people made a slightly different error & became fixated on a low-probability (assuming company hires competently, trains adequately, equips sufficiently) hypothetical fact pattern where a security guard's attempt to subdue a criminal in commission of theft results in catastrophic bodily injury to the crook defense of property - total defense to liability - turns on whether would-be defendant best buy used force reasonably proportional to stop the theft i.e. a tackle rather than shooting a mf people above fucked this up by failing to realize so long as reasonable force is used the damage a would-be plaintiff incurs is irrelevant they ignorantly are applying a strict liability standard without even realizing then they are straying further to fixate on whether in that scenario where the plaintiff crook never could be entitled to recover so no plaintiff's attorney except maybe a brand new rookie destined to starve would represent the crook on contingency basis finally they squabbled among themselves as to whether in their flawed hypo an insurance carrier would pay for the plaintiff's recovery for bodily injury claims

They would be filing hundreds of claims every second of every day and that's just not how it works. They do however raise prices to account for shrinkage. So the more shit stolen the more you pay
