Alright, I'm now 10 hours into FF7. I know it's the OG, and the Remake does things differently. But in a weird way, OG feels like an ABRIDGED version of the story to me. Moments and pacing are faster...and I kind of don't like that. I still think OG FF7 is pretty great so far.

The problem is you’re experiencing FFVII after almost 30 years of games that were influenced by FFVII. It’s still a great game today, but it’s hard to recreate what it felt like in 1997. If you’d already been gaming for years, FFVII didn’t just feel like another RPG it felt like a glimpse into the future. Playing it now is history. Playing it then was an event and created a whole new paradigm for rpgs.
