@Emzyl_ Obvious depends on what you want a player to do. Different football philosophies… however for me no way I take Rooney to a major tournament. His stats are terrible. But to the EPL yes maybe.

Some of the stuff I've seen about Rooney here is funny. He's earned the right to not rate Neymar and it's okay, people are talking about him like he's Carragher. Each to their own, but if I wanted to win a serious football match, I'm taking Peak Rooney over Neymar all day long.

I will not disrespect Neymar just because of a random person on twitter but lemme make one thing clear. Wayne Rooney was a better player than Neymar in every aspect of the game that matters. Rooney. More reliable. Did more for the team: would go out there and put it all on the line week in week out at both ends of the pitch. Neymar more talented but a self-obsessed, prima-Donna tart. Of the two, Rooney was more instrumental to his teams’ success over his career than Neymar was.
