Double Dragon released for Famicom in Japan April 8, 1988–37 years ago! It initially released for arcades April 1987, and for NES in the US June 1988. DD is a side scrolling beat ‘em up where you can obtain weapons from some enemies, such as bats (always my favorite), throwing knives, whips from the whip ladies, and more. Bruce Lee films, Mad Max, and Fist of the North Star influenced the game, and players control characters Billy and his twin Jimmy Lee to rescue Billy’s girlfriend, Marian, from an evil warrior gang. You can “level up” to unlock additional martial arts moves, like jump kicks and throws. I love this game and played a lot as a kid. Though I had it on NES, I oddly remember it most on computer. The family who watched me after school had it and I played a lot at there house. They didn’t have consoles, but had so many games on computer and we played so much! Double Dragon inspired a franchise, with several games, a ridiculous cartoon where they had goofy dragon masks (but I watched it anyway because I watched even the bad game cartoons), and a silly movie (again, I was just happy there was a video game). It was one of the earliest game inspired movies! I’m happy to Arc System Works (who currently owns the IP) putting out new games, like DD Revive! Double Dragon still holds a special place in my memories ❤️

It’s the little wins that matter most ✨ ~Like finally swimming past 25 meters without feeling like I’m dying. ~Like learning proper freestyle after years of not knowing how. ~Like showing up scared, but doing it anyway. 4 months ago, I couldn’t swim 25 meters straight. I understand that it's hard when the utility/power of your Axies changes. However, this constant change is a feature of the Axie universe. Your Axies will change many many times in the future whether it be in V2 or other games.
