@Soras12341 @KllnJa Its one of those games where many of the things it did were so revolutionary at the time that they've seamlessly become staples of the genre, like enemy placement on the overworld instead of random encounters and team up attacks.

@KllnJa I think its a good game. i just don't understand why its considered one of the greats when it doesn't even do anything particularly interesting or revolutionary compared to other jrpgs besides maybe the ng+ and the combat. Maybe it did at the time but not now.

@AntifaCostanza The comments in this thread highlight the gap that has always existed between CT diehards and the general JRPG community. CT diehards are CT diehards because its different, but they also have the tendency to dismiss most other JRPGs as "anime shit" or "melodrama shit".

You can't use "male" or "female"; you have to use "Body type 1/2." Everyone was surprised when this inexplicable rule was introduced to Japanese games a few years ago. And many people in Japan, including myself, wonder if there are really that many people who are happy about this.

Japanese gamers asked to replace “Body Type 1-2” with actual Male and Female in Palworld character creation, citing Japan’s Article 175 censorship law that’s changing. Pals already use proper Male/Female labels. Japanese players explained it clearly. The developer decided to lock the topic and ignore. Pocketpair silenced Japanese players for asking for less censorship.

I've played every game in the series despite the region locks. These games are not that erotic compared to what comes out nowadays. I'm honestly baffled it's still Japan exclusive.
