Three civilians were killed and several houses were damaged in an early morning armed attack at Loibol village in Manipur's Kangpokpi district on Friday. On 03.06.2026, security forces arrested an active cadre of PREPAK from Sawombung Khunjao near Primary Health Centre under Lamlai-PS, Imphal East district namely, Thangjam Nganba Meetei alias Inao alias Leishabi (23) of Khurai Konsam Leikai under Porompat-PS, Imphal East district. From his possession, 01 (one) four-wheeler and other incriminating items were seized.

The Kuki Organization for Human Rights Trust (KOHUR) has called for a court-supervised National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe into the killing of Rev. Dr. Vumthang Sitlhou, Rev. Kaigoulun Lhouvum, and Pastor Paogoulun Sitlhou in Manipur on May 13. In a statement, KOHUR questioned claims made by the United Naga Council (UNC) regarding the incident and alleged that the attack may have been part of a larger coordinated conspiracy. The organisation said an independent investigation is necessary to establish the facts surrounding the killings, related abductions, and other incidents reported in Kuki-inhabited areas. KOHUR also demanded the immediate release of 14 Kuki men reportedly being held in Senapati district and reiterated its opposition to hostage-taking.
