The officer is Zoltán Andre. According to counterintelligence, he built a network of agents who gathered data on air defense systems, Ukrainian troop deployments, and local public sentiment. Among those recruited were a former serviceman and an ex-contract soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They passed on information about the region’s military defenses and the situation on the ground. The SBU says recruitment was carried out in part through diplomatic channels: people were offered money and various benefits, while meetings were held under cover. Two members of the network have already been detained, and efforts to identify the rest are ongoing.
