Kids are watching Ben Stiller's *Night at the Museum* (2006) beside me as I work; not really paying attention but I think the movie may qualify as an instance of Todorov's famous genre of "the fantastic" [rather than "the uncanny" or "the marvelous"].

@OliverJia1014 @DamianFlanagan I offered to be Richie's kanji instructor [I was 21 years old and had just spent the year mastering the 常用漢字]; but he said he was too old to start. Today, every foreigner and their grandmother can read 常用 kanji.

@Swarthyface @DamianFlanagan Apparently he came from a generation of people living in Japan where some teachers felt that kanji were too difficult for foreigners. I had some email correspondence with Donald Keene before he passed away though and he told me he never understood why Richie still didn’t try.

While I disagree with Nick Fuentes on almost everything, here he is right. This is the profound genius of Christianity when it comes to sex. One of the greatest contributions to European thought of Otto Weininger is the discovery that this sexual formula is the conditia sine qua for masculinity to evolve into GENIUS. It need not require literal monasticism but it does require masculine culture and in a feminine culture it demands monasticism. It is impossible for genius to thrive in a feminine culture. This is why millennials have produced no great art. It is why Costin Alamariu, perhaps the greatest Xillennial thinker, is routinely accused of being a homosexual, just as Nick is.

@DamianFlanagan I should also note that Richie couldn't read Japanese, like at all. I asked him how many kanji he could recognize/read, and he said "A dozen or so."

During the corona debacle, my enemies (many in my field; no need to name) advocated for wife-kids & me to be banned from public life & travel. Yet I did not go G Khan & call for their annihilation; I called them "my enemies whom I am commanded to love"; this is the way forward.

note that I do not shy away from the word "enemies"; they are still my enemies.

I'm fine with boomers comparing every current event to World War Two, but I just wish they would make more comparisons to the Marco Polo Bridge Incident (盧溝橋事件) of July 1937, which has much more analogous explanatory power than the usual boomerslop comparison.

As kids, we were fed beta slop; in our 20s, disillusioned, we went full alpha, fancying ourselves gnostic philosophers of the secret laws of female jouissance, living harmatically; we later realized this too was a lie, we had been duped again,the rotten fruit of a degenerate age.
