@lovinglyprolife I love that film, but no one’s marriage should be ruined over it.
English

@SVAlwaysHome Man, if I could but focus on audiobooks, that would be great.
English

@TheLadySam1 All of Hardy's books are gut rippers. As it was, I listened to an audiobook of it. I find the best way to get through "wordy" classics is to listen (specially when I have at least a 1/2 hour drive or more)
English

@derdunklekommt I’m glad you’re enjoying it. Hopefully you’ll find vol 2 just as captivating
English

@TheLadySam1 DQ vol. 1 has really captured my heart. I think his sense of humor has really captivated me.
English

@jonathandalecki A few people have mentioned a few Robin Hood titles but idk how definitive they are
English

@TheLadySam1 It feels kind of weird that there’s no definitive Robin Hood book amongst the great literary classics.
English

@C_OColman I didn’t know Steinbeck did Arthur.
I loved Grapes of Wrath and Of Mice and Men
English

@TheLadySam1 It’s a weird list, but all favorite books of my childhood. It made me remember Steinbeck’s adaptation of Arthurian legends, and then of East of Eden which I’d not read until recently and which I thought a masterpiece. His best work and deeply revealing about the US West.
English

@tjsaenzenglish @SketchesbyBoze Got that one on repeat
English

@TheLadySam1 An Táin, if you're willing to get a bit Gaelic with it
English

@LotsBizzy Regret? Why? lol I loved Dorian Gray and Wuthering Heights
English

@TheLadySam1 I just bought moby dick TODAY! I also grabbed The Picture of Dorian Gray and Wuthering Heights. The latter I’m already regretting.
English

@mshurtleffwrite We’re reading Ivanhoe for book club!
English

@TheLadySam1 🎉Someone included Scott on a list without me coming running and demanding they do so! 😅
English

@castle_roogna @SketchesbyBoze I mean, it heavily features
English

@TheLadySam1 @SketchesbyBoze Oh sorry I have bad reading comprehension, I thought we were doing Arthurian stuff.
English

@derdunklekommt I didn’t love Don Quixote Vol 1— I found it too repetitive —but I adored vol 2, which is crazy because Cervantes only wrote it because some imposter wrote a sequel under his name
English

@TheLadySam1 Having now found the theme, I must say that long-ass classics are my jam. My faves:
Anna Karenina
Les Misérables
OaFK
Crime and Punishment
Still in the middle of:
Don Quixote
In Search of Lost Time
English

@jas_cant_hang Loved the Grapes of Wrath. Haven’t read Uncle Tom’s Cabin
English

@TheLadySam1 Oooooh lol.
Then I suggest adding The Grapes of Wrath and Uncle Tom’s Cabin.
English

@jas_cant_hang Long ass classics I haven’t read yet
English

@ejpreston The Count of Monte Cristo is top tier
English

@TheLadySam1 The Count of Monte Cristo
Sir Gawain and the Green Knight
Beowulf
English

@candlecav I read The Black Arrow quite a while ago. I may want to revisit it
English

I’m a mother but apparently I’m also a dad
lia@tallsnail
honestly the dads are so right, a 30-minute bathroom break is basically a spiritual retreat… starting to respect the craft
