Ontario is proposing changes to help optimize our existing highway infrastructure by opening HOV lanes to more drivers during off-peak hours on provincial highways.   It’s the latest step in our plan to #ProtectOntario by fighting gridlock and keeping drivers moving.
Prabmeet Sarkaria@PrabSarkaria

Ontario is taking action to open HOV lanes to more drivers during off-peak hours on provincial highways. With gridlock costing our economy billions every year, we’re making better use of existing highway infrastructure to keep drivers moving and reduce time spent stuck in traffic.

Today our government has proposed changes to the Highway Traffic Act to allow single drivers to use high‑occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes during off‑peak hours. This means less time in traffic, more movement on our roads, and smarter use of our infrastructure.
