I finally watched Obsession after a week of seeing people hype it up like it was the horror movie of the year. I’ll be brutally honest: I don’t get the obsession with #Obsession There wasn’t a single scene that genuinely scared me. Nothing felt particularly shocking, disturbing, or different from what you’d normally expect from a horror movie. I kept waiting for the moment that would make me understand why everyone was losing their minds over it, and that moment never came. I’ve even seen people talk about it like it’s destined to sweep awards, but I honestly don’t see it. For me, Get Out had a much bigger impact despite having far less of the online frenzy surrounding it. Maybe I’m just desensitized to horror at this point, but Obsession did absolutely nothing for me. Rating: 5.2/10
