@Lucy_Lapwing As someone who loves nature- yes. As someone who works for a landowner- no(ish). Everyone should have access to nature but I’m picturing trampling in woodlands of delicate ground flora and sensitive wildlife being disturbed. How do you mitigate that with a right to roam?

We’re appalled by a proposal to extend Hermitage Quarry in Kent which could destroy at least 50 hectares of irreplaceable ancient woodland. It is the biggest single development threat to ancient woodland in England for decades. buff.ly/434wmgv

Day 40 - Savernake Day 2. Met up with @clarebalding and @_karengregor to record a @BBCRadio4 #radio4ramblings It was a wonderful day, we navigated using a combination of my mobile mapping app & a paper map with the named trees that I got from the beautiful Postern Hill campsite.

So my mum comes to visit and brings me a present. She found this cardi IN A LITERAL BIN and, it couldn’t be more perfect for me?? Like, a fungi themed cardi, just… in a regular old litter bin outside the Spar?! 😂

I walked home from the train station yesterday and spotted swifts flying overhead. This morning I’m sat with my tea and can hear their screeching- run outside to see them soaring over our new home. PURE JOY🐦💙👏🏻

Two trees 'Lost', seven added... Two coppiced limes, Victoria Park, Truro, a veteran beech in Kenwyn churchyard a veteran Hazel on the way down to Tresillian River, and the two holm oaks in Probus churchyard.

Day 6 - Mawnan Smith to Sticker, 22.3 miles. A lovely day, a long day of walking after an early start and late finish...the astute will notice there is a lag in daily updates... about 48 with no Internet.

So, on Friday we set off for Penzance for me to start my ancient tree pilgrimage from Land's End to John O'Groats the next morning. We all went together including Merlin.

I wish all lecturers would have done this. The goal I worked towards my whole educational youth was to gain my degree in Zoology. I didn’t considered which career path I would take, how this could impact where I live and how much I earn.👇
