PRESS STATEMENT (For Immediate Release) Date: 8th April 2026 STATEMENT CONDEMNING THE ATTACK ON VIHIGA SENATOR GODFREY OSOTSI The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) strongly condemns the cowardly and criminal attack on Vihiga Senator, Hon. Godfrey Osotsi, in Kisumu earlier today. ODM is not a party of intimidation, coercion, or political violence. Our movement is founded on the principles of social democracy, pluralism, and constitutionalism. The ODM Party Constitution explicitly commits us to the protection of human rights and the eradication of tribalism, sectionalism, harassment and oppression. It further mandates the party to defend the freedom of expression and the human dignity of every Kenyan. These are not abstract ideals but are the very values upon which ODM was built through years of struggle. Our party has consistently stood for an open society where citizens and leaders alike are free to speak, organize, and differ without fear. Kenya’s Constitution equally protects the right of every citizen to make political choices. Any attack on a leader because of his views or associations is an attack on the very democratic space Kenyans fought so hard to win. Violence is never an acceptable response to political contestation. We wish Senator Osotsi a quick and full recovery. We stand in solidarity with him, his family, and all those who believe in peaceful engagement. We call upon the National Police Service to move swiftly and decisively to identify, arrest, and prosecute all those responsible for this cowardly act. Political violence must never be normalized or rewarded. At the same time, this shameful incident must not be used to stigmatize the people of Kisumu. Criminal acts are committed by individuals and should be treated as such; they must not become a pretext for profiling an entire city or community. HE Gladys Wanga, EGH GOVERNOR HOMA BAY COUNTY & ODM CHAIRPERSON

I'm watching a YouTube video of this fellow who is moving from Shenzhen to Guangzhou. The cities are 100km apart and that takes them 25 minutes via train. In Kenyan context, it means unaweza ishi Sagana, Naivasha Town ama Sultan Hamud na unaenda job Nairobi CBD daily. And for the time it takes matatu ya kutoka Kenol to CBD in the morning, kuna mtu anaweza kua ashatoka Mombasa na akafika tao.

The only problem I have with this is that years later, after the beautiful lady has healed and wants to remarry, maybe the dad is not even there….she gets married but cannot sustain the marriage. Why? Because there is an altar speaking against her marriage. That’s how altars are created. Words are seeds. No matter the pain we may have, let’s watch what we speak over our children.

President Ruto had an opportunity to rise to the occasion as Head of State and father of the nation, and heal the divide. Instead, he chose a different path that revealed a leader more concerned with political power than the well-being of his people, and one whose temper overshadowes the responsibility of his office. His utterances yesterday were deeply unfortunate and missed the moment for leadership.

Boniface Kariuki’s death is an open, clear and daylight extrajudicial killing. When they put police officers to guard the ICU at Kenyatta Hospital, it was clear that the government wanted to control when the announcement of Boniface’s demise will be made. Brain dead is almost the same as saying just dead. The police killed Boniface. Let’s now hear the government’s response.

Bunge is the real dealbreaker and I am not even kidding. That is why the Executive had to buy the MPs to gain absolute freedom to do anything. We need to constantly ask: Who will be our next MPs? Otherwise, there's no way we'll transform KE politics without fixing Bunge.

A real revolution cannot happen when the same people who benefited from the old system suddenly show up claiming to support change, because they will not build anything new, they will only repackage the same poison, kill anyone who gets in their way, and bring back a version of the system that is even more brutal than before, which is why Kenya must start fresh with completely clean hands and not just crush the head of a pregnant snake while leaving the eggs untouched.

After long Brainstorming with different people, from different counties. We have only come to one conclusion ,that for our protests to be properly effective they need to stop being just one day activity,it should be continuous. Camping at night,is not a viable solution as it would expose us to dangers from police who use darkness as camouflage. But doing it daily, will work very well. The man in the high castle will flee before day 3. From now then, our Transitional councils’ job will be to undo all the dirty dealings this regime has committed to. Those who ordered killings and abductions and those who executed those tasks. The following week will be for sending them to jail. Tutafunga wote. Change is here,Siri ni Numbers. #RutoMustGoNow

THE PROTESTS CROSSED THE RED LINE OF THE CONSTITUTION! 1. What was to be a day of "peaceful" protests this last Wednesday , left behind a trail of destruction of property and was characterized by chaos and violence. 2. It was indeed a dark day as we witnessed cases of violence, looting and destruction of property including public buildings. 3. Whereas the Constitution guarantees the right to demonstrate and sets the parameters within which this right to be exercised, this is no excuse to take away the fundamental rights of others as guaranteed by the same Constitution. 4. One cannot hide behind the right to demonstrate, while taking away the right to property of others by looting , raping our women and destroying property of other Kenyans. 5. One cannot hide behind the right to demonstrate and cause chaos and use violence on innocent and hardworking Kenyans. 6. One cannot hide behind the right to demonstrate and purport to want to wish away a constitutionally established government. 7. The protests on Wednesday certainly crossed the red line and were nothing of what the Constitution envisages under Article 37 which is the right, peaceably and unarmed, to demonstrate.Yes police must exercise restraint 8. The relevant authorities must therefore swiftly bring to book anyone who participated in causing chaos and violence, looting of shops and taking away the hard earned money of Kenyans and destruction of property including public buildings. The perpetrators must face the law, the red line was crossed! 9. Suffice it to say, the Constitution is binding on all of us and none has the right to advance selfish political interests camouflogued behind the right to demonstrate. This should never be allowed. We are one country under God and governed by our Constitution.Anyone who thinks otherwise, must be held accountable and face the law. God bless Kenya!

My good teacher&friend, where did I issue a "shoot -live to murder command"? Having been your good student, I know better than to make unfounded statements. I merely restated the law that you participated in its formulation. As you may recall the sixth schedule of the National Police Service Act in Paragraph B (1) provides the Conditions for use of firearm which include the protection of life of officers or civilians; protection of property ; self defense against threats of death or serious injury among others. I am happy to continue this debate with you over a cup of tea and to listen to any other perspectives on your interpretation of the above provisions Have a good evening Mwalimu.

While we uphold the law, these five have turned it into a joke: Kipchumba Murkomen – A disgrace in a suit. Once called himself a law teacher, now just a megaphone for tyranny. He doesn’t interpret the Constitution; he spits on it. Kithure Kindiki – A ghost in government. Presides over police killings with the silence of a man who sold his soul for a desk and a driver. Dorcas Oduor – The prosecutor turned political puppet. She swapped justice for comfort and has never looked back. The bar weeps. Gladys Boss Shollei – From registrar to regime mouthpiece. All hair and hashtags, no jurisprudence. Her legal mind was last seen on a milk packet. Peter Kaluma – A legislative clown. His understanding of the Constitution is as unstable as his tweets—loud, messy, and legally illiterate. They are a cartel of constitutional sabotage. A disgrace to the Law Society of Kenya. Intellectually unfit. Morally bankrupt. Professionally toxic. They must be expelled. If LSK still stands for integrity, this is your test. Because when lawyers abandon the people, we stop being learned friends and start becoming licensed threats. Time to take out the trash.
