AI-Assisted Dev Log: Entering month 5 of my game dev journey! 🚀 The biggest takeaway so far? Speed. Gemini has been a game-changer in teaching me the "how" and "why" behind Unreal Engine. I feel like a student who learned the entire syllabus just by making a cheat sheet.

but for new devs like me and small studios, AI is crucial and makes things very fast and easy. I still don't use AI for my scripting, the story is entirely my own work. I hope to complete my demo in time for Steam Next Fest and ship it soon.

I added the air vents but original camera was buggy so i added fps camera to it, it feels so childish so hyperenergetic i was in laughters hahaahhaahhaha, Reminds me of that scene in gumball where the ghost enters his body and consumes every single thing that he encounters #indie

so steam is giving developers the option to price their games according to the average earnings of the country, basically making it so us 3rd worlders dont have to spend a months salary on a AAA game, holy shit

in next level (Which i will design) our enemies will know we will coming and the level will start with aggresive NPCs. So we have two choices, either we discreetly follow our target and get a chance to play secret level 3 or kill first ask later and aggressive approach

Dev Log. Level 2 is mechanically done( just some UI and polish left). Now we have a target NPC that we have to follow, and find the address that stashed in bookshelves. We can kill the NPC to obtain the address as well but if we do that

@WoderGameStudio hmm good question, I think that data is searchable but I haven't seen any specific studies on that. Just as anecdotal evidence I know Germany loves super hardcore simulators and Japan loves anime stuff

If you're making games with the goal of making money, choose your genre wisely! Steam loves "crafty-buildy-strategy-sim" games so if you decide to make one of those then achieving your financial success goal will be much easier than if you go with something like a 2D Puzzle Platformer. Nothing is guaranteed in this industry, but if you make wise choices you can tilt the odds in your favor. Best of luck!
