AI is really smart, but it literally cannot extrapolate (a neural network is just a really good multi-dimension interpolator). This is why the first human to hear rock and roll loved it, but an AI trained on only music before then could have never predicted that rock and roll would be good.

With LLMs we’ve basically invented digital candy. LLM written content is designed to maximize engagement in a way human text will never be able to match. It’s why AI-written posts constantly go viral on here. AI will win not because it’s better but because it’s more delicious.

@big_duca I originally thought this, grew our current product to +1M arr with a hard paywall, but Im staring to think there is a middle ground. Paid-only filters out skeptics and most smart people are skeptics.

Only idiots offer free versions of their products. Awaken has a free version. Problem is the people attracted to that are often horrible. Our rudest users are always the ones who pay us the least. It’s amazing how consistent it is.

I fear that AI has decimated the traditional email inbox as we know it. Too many personalized emails slip through spam filter. Hope someone builds a better mousetrap. This one is cooked in its current form.
